"Nayol, Tito and crew did an amazing job on my deck and other jobs. They also installed a new back door (where I never had one before) repaired and painted stucco, installed doors, painted interior rooms, etc.. The whole crew was professional, respectful, and a pleasure to deal with. I will hire them again."

"I hired them to replace and paint some of the drywall in the living room ceiling after some water damage. Thomas was a great guy, a pleasure to work with. His team showed up on time and immediately covered every piece of furniture and accessories with plastic. They also completely isolated the work area with a plastic curtain. There was no dust or any dirt left behind when they were. They did a great job for me and I strongly recommend them for any other projects."

"We have hired Cesar and his team for several jobs now, and wouldn't consider anyone else. From first contact to the completed project, we were impressed. After having some bad experiences with contractors it was such a relief to find a team of professionals. Not only do they complete the project, but they went above and beyond. For instance, while shoring up our main staircase, Cesar fixed a door that never closed right, now almost a year later it still closes! The projects we hired him for were to replace loose tiles in our tub/shower and fix the faucets as well. Just yesterday they finished removing tile and carpet from our kitchen, hallway and bathroom. They also installed a combination of vinyl plank flooring, tile and a bathroom vanity. The job took only 2 days. Overall Cesar and his team worked quickly and efficiently, in a timely manner and they cleaned up afterward. I highly recommend this operation."

"Our existing storm door was not closing and latching properly. We had to constantly keep it locked with the tongue and strike engaged to avoid having the wind blow it open. This then became a security issue as well as a continual annoyance. We knew this door had to be replaced and soon. After collecting several cost proposals and meeting one contractor with quite a bit of experience, in the end, the labor cost that was given to us came out to be double the amount of all other contractors with the exception of SPEEDY STORM DOORS in Clifton. Vinnie, the Owner, quoted us a Larson storm door which I chose. Larson is a high quality product. Although I tried to do better on the cost of this door, Vinnie's cost to me was equal to the amount I would pay at the better lumber yards that carried the Larson brand. Vinnie's labor cost to install was significantly lower than all of the other contractors I spoke and met with. After meeting and speaking with Vinnie, I then decided to have him do the job. His vast experience and degree of communication made this an easy decision. Following an agreed upon date and time, Vinnie arrived at our home with his truck, fully stocked to support any type of door installation and then some! Working alone, Vinnie proceeded to remove our existing door without hesitation. Much to my surprise, Vinnie then removed a brand new Larson storm door (still in it's factory packaging) from his truck and proceeded to install it. I witnessed all of his work and can say that Vinnie has, in fact, installed hundreds of these doors and his work easily supports that fact. Vinnie paid significant attention to detail, ensuring that all was level and square and each and every fastener was correctly installed including insulation and cosmetic covering. Vinnie did not leave the job until he was satified that the new door operated perfectly. I am a very particular home owner and can say that I was very pleased with Vinnie's work and recommend Speedy Storm Doors to all home owners. I remain thankful that I chose this contractor and not the others! Our existing storm door was not closing and latching properly. "Install went great. We love our new door. The installers took the time to do it right. They removed the original door without making a big mess or just "banging it out" it was removed smartly to not damage anything that was supposed to remain. They then assessed what they had to work with and built up where needed to make the install of the new door as secure as possible. The new door went in smoothly and looks fantastic. Al throughout the install they would answer any question I had or my children had. They also took care to make sure the alarm wires and doorbell cam were protected from harm during the install and that they worked as expected when done. Although they were pricier than the average I am convinced our new door will outlast us in this home. I would recommend them and will use them again."

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Jersey City, NJ

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
