"Neale does excellent iron work & is personable. He knows his craft with the iron.  Paint job on my railing was less than adequate,  due to the fact painting was done (for the most part) in the dark & a new roller was not used. Paint on railing does not have smooth finish because fiber from the roller is in the paint. Did not do a good job of  preparation before job started (i.e. covering screen door w/ plastic to shield it from concrete dust or use of drop cloths/plastic to minimize paint on vinyl siding and steps.  Customer service is lacking in terms of scheduling & managing expectations about job date and time of arrival. Required my follow-up to find our exactly what day job would happen & time of arrival. Was expected to arrive @ 9 am on day of job. Didn't arrive @ this time. I called after about 10:30 & was told he was just picking-up some needed supplies. Not sure of actual arrival time, since I had an appointment to keep at 11:20 and had to leave the house. I'd estimate start time was well after 11, as I got back home after 1 pm and minimal progress seemed to be made. Also, I was asked to pay balance on job before it was totally complete, which didn't meet my expectations in terms of professionalism. I'd use again, if needed; and would be sure to pin down times, ask for calls if running late or changes needed; and will only settle up after job is totally complete & can be inspected in the daylight."

JLI Services, Inc took on our project not knowing what was under the overgrown ivy. Once all the ivy was removed, they built the 100 ft long staggered retaining wall, used the proper drainage for the height of the wall, back filled, and then added top soil with grading to connect to our existing yard. As a bonus, they laid grass seed and covered with hay. Through this process, we gained an additional 3 1/2 feet of yard that we never knew we had because of the ivy overgrowth. We added to their scope of work, and they were able to meet our needs each time. The job was completed on schedule and done on budget. The workers were friendly and answered any questions we had. They cleaned up everyday, which was important since we have dogs. Several neighbors and even the inspector commented on the quality of the work.

"They did not say that it was impossible. They worked with my husband. I would nominate these guys for your hall of fame. First off, they were willing to discuss the job even though it was smaller and a bit of a challenge. They didn't say that it was impossible. They worked with my husband to come up with a very viable plan. they scheduled it around our availability. Their estimate was very reasonable. It wasn't bargain basement where we knew we weren't gonna get( quality work), right? It was extraordinarily reasonable. What we had them do...we had stairways to the basement that did not function, they were dangerous, they just weren't working for us. So they basically had to rip those out and make a new stairway with a landing and be to code. It was a challenging job. If it was a very easy job, my husband would have done it. Other very well reviewed people on Angies List said either they couldn't do it or that they'd get back to us, but they didn't. I believe it was a very small job. It was just a 5000 dollar job. Whatever the reason, I thought it was bad to be dismissive. We were going to need other work done. These guys worked with him on the design. They set a plan. They set the schedule. It turns out the first day it turned out they couldn't do it. The Ravens had just won the Super Bowl and it was a big todo here and after I thought about it, I decided that was reasonable. They came, they stayed on schedule, and they cleaned it every day. The work had really high standards. I'd say that the work exceeded my expectations. They did some finishing stuff that we didn't even know that we needed. I can't think of anything that I would not give them an A on. The owner is named Paolo Machioli. He has his team that he works with and they aren't sub-contractors, they are just his team. He doesn't take on many projects at a time and that is probably why he is able to be a perfectionist."
