"I can't say enough GOOD things about Powerhouse - but I'll try! Please read this lengthy, but carefully crafted review of this team and the work that they did for me - especially if you are a woman on your own and looking for honesty and integrity as a prime requirement in a construction company. Powerhouse could be your team! They are: professional, personable, precise, perfectionistic, proficient, punctual, and pragmatic. I dreamed of a remodeled kitchen in my old farmhouse for at least a decade and had talked with several other contractors who either couldn't or wouldn't share the ideas that I had for the space - particularly at the budget I had set for the work. After one meeting, I knew that JD and Clayton had caught my vision and were ready to run with it. They also proved ABLE to complete anything I requested - often beyond my expectations. I felt that this father and his two sons treated my project as if it was their own kitchen - and included me as an integral part of the team for planning and decision making at every step. They heard and respected my ideas and offered many great suggestions beyond what I had considered., I feel that this was a true collaboration and the Powerhouse goal was that I was satisfied with the end result and that they were satisfied that they did the best work possible! The kitchen is fabulous and I don't know what I love most about it. From the newly leveled floor, to improved insulation and electrics, to raising the ceiling to the rafters, to combining two small boxy rooms into one huge and functional space, to repurposing the 50 year old solid wood cabinets, to adding a super pantry wall - everything was done to perfection! Truly a floor-to-ceiling-and behind the walls remodel that was completed within the price that we had agreed upon - no surprises or shocks! I don't think that there is anything that Powerhouse can't do and do very well. Certified electricians, master carpentry, expert tile work, creative fabrication of pantry doors....they excelled at all of this. Additionally, these men were a pleasure to have in my home - a real bonus when doing a project of this intensity (of time, money and decisions). They exhibit a strong work ethic, share great senses of humor, set and achieve high standards for quality of work, are never idle, cleaned up the workspace every day, and were always open to sharing ideas and explaining procedures. They get along well with each other - no bickering, no bad language, no dark or moody days! In my opinion, Powerhouse Construction and Electrical is simply the BEST group that I've ever worked with and I consider it a blessing that I found them! As I look to the future. I wouldn't consider any other company with whom to entrust my home projects ! These are "my guys" from now on!"

"This job went absolutely perfectly. Working with Ted on the design was easy and straightforward. He asked us questions about our wants and needs -- and he listened. His design reflected our input and requests. Ted provided us design options and prices helping us navigate to reasonable outcomes. <br /> <br /> As we choose our appliances, countertops and back splashes, Ted worked integrally and seamlessly with each of those suppliers to assure the project pieces fit together perfectly. <br /> <br /> Ted and his team met every one of their deadlines on time -- and Ted was instrumental in resolving any issues we might have had with other suppliers in our project. <br /> <br /> Heirloom's installation team -- led by Ted's brother, Terry -- were painstaking perfectionists. The cabinet installation was stunning and a joy to watch. The care and obvious joy these folks have is heart warming... <br /> <br /> As the project progressed we asked Ted/Heirloom to add additional cabinetry to our home -- a custom bathroom vanity and mirror, a custom entertainment center and a custom set of shelves in our sun room. Ted had excellent suggestions, constructed furniture grade cabinets and was a pure joy to work with. <br /> <br /> I can tell you we are very proud to have been associated with Ted and the entire Heirloom team. "John does exceptional work, and is very knowledgeable, punctual, and fair. His work is of the highest quality - so much so that we asked him to come back and remodel a second bathroom. "The old bathroom was poorly designed, with a footprint that was tiny and a tub (no shower) that was directly under the service panel for the entire house. <br /> The project involved digging up the concrete floor in an adjacent space, installing new plumbing and framing out a new room. Since this is a pretty remote weekend retreat 1 1/2 hrs from our home, we couldn't be on site. Both my husband and I had complete confidence in Justin Buterbaugh's professionalism, expertise and trustworthiness. We had to give him the keys to all the buildings on the property (some materials were stored there) but after meeting him twice (once for the initial specs and bid, the second time to give him the keys and review specifics of the job and walk-through the details), I had no question about leaving the project in his hands. <br /> Aside from delivering materials after the initial demo when there were no workers on site, we were unable to supervise or check in on any of the work. Justin kept me up to date more often than I expected or required and was very prompt with answers to questions on details that I forgot initially. He called with a few questions that he couldn't have decided on his own.  <br /> We had an old table that we wanted as a vanity and hoped to prepare it ourselves but ran out of time (frankly, it was beyond our abilities, too). Justin not only cut it to size for the project but repaired a leg, completely sanded, painted, distressed and finished it to make it a beautiful centerpiece for the new bathroom.  <br /> He completed the project in a timely manner which allowed us to use the cabin for New Year's eve (our family tradition). In spite of having another appointment, he spent nearly 4 hours on New Year's Eve repairing an old drain (kitchen) that was leaking near the new bathroom that was unrelated to any of the work he did which really wasn't his problem or fault. We were in a bind for sure and never would have expected him to fix it but he patiently and quite expertly fixed if for us. <br /> Having completed a few other bathroom projects at our home location, the cost of the project was completely in line with the quality and expertise. I might have found someone cheaper (and in fact did 4 years ago who backed out) but would likely have had a substandard finished product and way more hassles. <br /> We definitely plan to hire Buterbaugh's for other projects at the cabin, including replacing windows and a roof in the near future. I am 100 % satisfied and highly recommend him. <br />"
