"Nick from D&W answered my ad on Nextdoor regrading removing our current vanity backsplash tile and replacing with new tile. He and Ryder came by on Jan 5 to see the project and assured me they could do the job no problem. They performed the work on Jan 17 and 18 - removed tile and drywall behind, put up new drywall and tile. The tile looked great, there were a couple places that needed paint touchups but otherwise good. I texted Nick on Jan 25 letting him know that now that the grout was dry but there were patchy spots and holes where it wasn't fully grouted along the top/bottom. He said they'd come back out and fix it. I let him know we'd be out of town for the next month and that I'd follow up as soon as I was back. Nick said it was from stress and it should be a quick job to fix and that heâ d pick up the matching siliconized grout to do the repair. After multiple follows ups Nick and Ryder came back on April 2, scratched out some of the current grout and regrouted with the matching siliconized grout. It was a much darker color but it was wet still. On April 4 the grout was still much darker than the original. I texted Nick and he said itâ s the same color so it should match. When I looked a lot closer at the touchups theyâ d done you could see how bad it looked now that it was drying. They didnâ t scratch out the entire line of grout, just a few places and put a thick line of new grout on top of the old grout along the top and bottom of the vanity. I called Nick right away, no answer, and left a message explaining that this did not look good and it needed to be fixed and wanted to talk to him about this. I sent him pictures of what it looked like at various places on the wall and asked him to call me. I texted him again on April 5 asking him to call, no response. On April 8 I tried calling again, no response. My husband called as well with no response and then texted him, asking him to call. He tried to get him on the phone to explain the the issues but Nick only texted back saying he already told me the grout was the same color and should take a few months to fade to match and that theyâ d come back out in a few months if it didnâ t. I immediately tried to call Nick, no answer, and responded to a text with Nick and forwarded the pictures again. I explained itâ s not just the color, the grout isnâ t even, itâ s still crumbly in spots, messy along the edges and needed to be fixed. No response. On April 9 I texted that I was getting quotes from other contractors at this point to fix and finish the job and that Iâ d be expecting some sort of reimbursement. My second message at the end of the day, after another unanswered call, was that I was going to file a report with the Board. My husband was also calling during the time and received no call back either. There has been no response from Nick or Ryder at all since the text to my husband on April 8 and no acknowledgment of the the pictures I sent multiple times."
