"I was in need of a good electrical company due to some interesting things going on with my home electrical and our guest apartment. E&D Electric came to give me a free estimate and in doing so they took the time to understand thoroughly the issue at hand and practically identified the issue in my main home right away. While the guest apartment was more difficult, the rough idea Mr. Gonzalo had on the issues there, was not far off. When I called to approve the quote which was fair compared to other outrageous quotes I got from other companies, they responded immediately and got me in the schedule very fast even with the holidays. While they arrive a little later than expected, once they began the work, they repaired it quickly and with high quality and safety as priority. There was a minor oversight in the panel at my main home, but it was corrected right away and for that I’m more than pleased as well. Needless to say this company has my highest recommendation."

"David was excellent. He was 15 minutes earlier for the evaluation and for the install of the GFCI outlets. He answered questions I had about the outlets and was very respectful. I would certainly recommend Assurance Electrical Contractors."

"Electrical Design Solutions not only did an amazing job on the work we needed done in our home, but they were incredibly fast, kind, and their work is top notch. Not to mention their reasonable and accommodating prices. I would recommend them to any small/large business as well as any residential needs. I am truly so grateful to be a customer of theirs. They have essentially “come to rescue” when we’ve needed electrical tasks done at our two homes. I can always count on them to work with our schedule. On the few occasions they’ve helped us, we’ve asked them to look at other areas of our home and without hesitation they are always so helpful and attentive. Thank you, Electrical Design Solutions! "I interviewed 4 solar companies and NRG stand out the most because of the pricing. Kaelen came over and went through the numbers and everything made sense. I like the inverters and panels that NRG offered. Tiffany was great coordinating the project and handling the H.O.A. To get it approved by HOA took 3 days and after installation the city inspection took 1 day. Installers took 2 days to install 32 panels on a two story home. NRG seems like they really care because they sent out Robert after everything is completed to make sure I am completely satisfied with my solar. Love using the solar edge app and monitoring my production. Very useful tool if you want to manage your electricity. I am so pleased with NRG I am going to refer my neighbor who also wants solar. Thanks for everthing!"

"Mister Sparky did a great job getting someone to my home to do the work ASAP. Chris, the electrician who did my job, was truly excellent. He explained everything extremely clearly and was a true, polite professional. He even worked with me on the cost to keep it in my budget. I would definitely recommend them and use them again!"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Karnes City, TX

While homeowners with substantial electrical knowledge might technically attempt a subpanel installation, most local building departments require permits and inspections for this type of work. Professional electricians understand local code requirements, can obtain necessary permits, and ensure the installation meets safety standards. Given the significant safety risks associated with incorrect electrical work, most homeowners benefit from hiring a licensed professional.

A standard subpanel installation takes an average of four to eight hours. This timeframe may extend if you're installing multiple subpanels or adding specialized circuits like those for spa equipment. Factors such as difficult access points, complex wiring paths, or permit processing times can also affect the overall project duration.

Adding a subpanel doesn't directly reduce electricity consumption or lower your utility bills. A subpanel simply redistributes power from your main panel to additional circuits. However, organizing your electrical system more efficiently may help prevent overloaded circuits and the associated problems. For actual cost savings, consider energy-efficient appliances and lighting instead.

The appropriate subpanel size depends on your specific electrical requirements. Consider the number and type of devices you'll be powering, potential future needs, and the capacity of your main electrical panel. An electrician can perform a load calculation to determine the most suitable amperage rating for your situation, ensuring you have adequate power without overpaying for unnecessary capacity.

A main electrical panel connects directly to your utility's power supply and contains your home's primary service disconnect. It distributes electricity throughout your entire house. A subpanel, by contrast, receives power from the main panel and redistributes it to a specific area of your home. Think of the main panel as the primary distribution point and the subpanel as a secondary branch that extends your electrical system's reach.

While electrical upgrades aren't as immediately visible as kitchen or bathroom renovations, they can contribute to your home's functionality and safety. Prospective buyers often appreciate updated electrical systems that can accommodate modern power demands. A properly installed subpanel that provides additional capacity for workshops, home offices, or future expansions could be an attractive feature for certain buyers, though the direct impact on home value varies by market.
