"We were so happy with the work Shane completed on our screened-in porch. We had old screens in frames that were clipped to each window and were looking old. Shane installed new screens by fitting them between 2 pieces of wood trim inside each window opening. The result was amazing. Our window lines look so much cleaner because you don't see clips on the outside of the window frames, nor do we have individual frames for each screen. The built-in screens look SO much nicer than what we had before. Shane also installed a new wooden screen door for us to complete the look. We are VERY happy with the way our porch now looks. "we had asked that work not be done the week before our daughter's college graduation.  They called the weekend before and said a rooking crew was available and could do the work on Monday if we wanted to go ahead.  we said OK.  then it rained and they worked on Tuesday and then into Wednesday to finish.  the roofing crews did not always dump debris onto tarps, did not properly address an issue at the chimney leaving a gap above the facia (even though I had pointed out this condition during a walk thru for the bid), and, in my opinion, bent the gutters in two places.  When they fixed the roof at the chimney, they said they must have had some bad caulking because the first hot day after it ran down the side of the chimney in a black gooey mess.  They then had to come back again and clean the chimney and re-fix the problem.
The guy installing the bathroom vent duct  through the attic installed the wye backwards.
The siding crew replaced the moldy HardiPlank and trim.  They pointed out several other bad soffit locations that were not in the original scope and those were fixed by change order.  I had to have them come back and fix several sloppy joint locations, caulk places that had missed and fix other locations where the HardiPlank was installed against roofing but had not yet begun to deteriorate.  During the work on first return they tore a hole in the bedroom screen and we had to have them come back and take the screen off and have it replaced.  In general, their attention to detail and level of craftsmanship was not nearly as good as the work they had done in 2004.  They did eventually fix everything we asked for.  Next time I will look for someone better.

"All items accomplished per discussion with service writer. The items were in response to an energy audit performed by Northeastern REMC, a free service to their customers. It took the workers a bit longer to accomplish all the work, but they didn't shortcut anything. In fact, they found an area that wasn't discussed while foaming the common wall and took care of it as well, as it just made sense to include it. I tipped each of the installers for their extra help.
I could easily tell the comfort difference in every area they'd hit, both during the winter and the subsequent summer. I just hired them to fix another problem with the fireplace area that's been difficult to diagnose and look forward to them resolving the problem.
