"The work was fine when they finally got to it. They had me wait 5 weeks from the 'initial estimate' visit. That was three weeks more than was initially planned. And that was with a few calls to get them there or I don't know how long it would have been. Other than that the work was fine. I would recommend them workwise but I don't know if they treat other customers like that."

D&D Aluminum is a great company. Carey Tarplay came to our  home to give an estimate. He suggested we visit his showroom, which we did. We were able to see all of the options to choose from, styles, colors, etc.  We wanted to replace our old sliding glass doors with French doors and Carey explained everything that needed to be done and helped us choose the proper layout for the side glass and French doors.  My husband and I had checked out a couple of competitors showrooms and I had fallen in love with a front door at one of them. D&D Aluminum didn't carry this line, but Carey said not to worry, he would be able to special order this door for us. This was above and beyond the service I expected.

The doors and windows were installed on time and perfect.  The Cooper City building inspector said it was a great job.

We are so happy with the workmanship that we now are using D&D Aluminum to add a screened in patio to the back of our house.

WE highly recommend D&D Aluminum to anyone in the market for new windows and doors.

"We just moved to Florida and bought a home. Not knowing anyone and hearing a lot of horror stories made us very skeptical in our 'interview' process of contractors. We met with roughly 6 companies and made the great decision to go with Premier. Mike and his crew were awesome from the get go. He was always proactive in his communication with us and was also very interested in feedback regarding his employees- who were all great by the way! We are very happy with the quality of work and the time they were able to accomplish it in. I would highly recommend using Premier General Contractors for any project! *Disregard the dirt in the front yard, this wasn't due to the construction of Premier it was from replacing a Septic tank."

"Proceed with caution! Things started out fairly efficiently and then went downhill quickly. I had a small kitchen reno that shouldn't have taken more than a week to complete and 8 months later, it sat unfinished. There were some delays due to supply chain, however I would constantly have to chase to set up a time for the project to be worked on. Weeks would go by with no work done and when Tommie would come out, it was often at odd hours when he was rushed, performing sloppy work. I subsequently had to hire new people to complete the project (thanks, Angi!) who took over on wiring that had to be reworked, an outlet that was left non-functioning and was actually fixed by someone who took the time to repair it, and all of my tiling/drywall that was left incomplete by Tommie and his contractors. Furthermore, both my stove and countertop were broken during construction and I was never compensated for the cost to repair the counter and to buy a new stove which I ended up taking out of pocket. There may be bigger projects out there, but it is a fairly simple (decent) business practice to commit to working on something and to seeing it through to completion. What should have been an easy project left me living in a construction zone for over half a year."

"I previously provided review of the project and from a design perspective the project appearance is exactly what we wanted.
We needed a project manager function to provide a complete solution and Varela Design promised and delivered the plan.
Varela sub contracted with other functions to bring together the total package.
Project came in a few weeks late and we had a few "add-ons" to the orginal written agreement and those items were fullfilled.
The issue came from follow-up and the subsequent service needed to keep the spa performing. Raymond stopped returning phone calls, texts, and emails in April 2015. When I requested a service call and wanted to order supplies he could not be reached.Complely ignored my numerous requests for help in ordering new filters. He seemed to drop out of the business
with no forwarding information or contacts.
I eventually reached a contact from the manufacturer of the spa in California who indicated they were not able to reach
Varela Design either. As the designated sales and service represenative for South Florida, there was no where else to go.
Finally I was able to find the filters I needed on-line from a third party vendor. The manufacturer also helped me find a local service contact who was able to trouble shoot it operating issue with my spa.
Although I did not expect it from my earliest encounters with Ray Varela, I am upset that after a fairly large purchase of goods and services from Varela Design, he left me high and dry.

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Key Largo, FL

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
