"On Friday morning at 9am, I got a call from the tenant in my rental in downtown Fredericksburg that her upstairs toilet wasn't working. She'd tried plunging it, but without success. She said her house was starting to stink and asked for us to get someone over their immediately. I checked Angie's list for a vendor with an A rating and found Davis Plumbing and Heating. I called and by 10am, Sean met me at the door to my rental property. WITHIN AN HOUR. When I remarked at how amazed I was at their response time, Sean said they try to come as soon as possible and of course, sometimes if they have appointments scheduled, it takes longer - but he was glad to be able to come as soon as he could. He told me theirs was a family owned business and I really liked that. He told me I talked to his Grandma, Pat, when I called to make the appointment.
Within in seconds, he snaked all the way down our pipes to the mainline and pulled up wads of wipes. Sure enough, their on the back of our toilet, was a container of wipes that our tenant had been flushing. Sean said they respond to a lot of backed up toilets for wipes. He made sure to get them all and tested our toilet with regular toilet tissue several times to make sure it was working. He cleaned up all drops of water and any mess and left the bathroom as clean as he found it.
For years, we've used a hodge podge of plumbers for our rental property (and our own house) - we'll be sure to call Davis from now on!

"After coming home Thursday afternoon from work, I arrived to a home that was 83 degrees while only 70 outside, and I knew something was wrong. I spend hours online trying to figure out what the problem may have been. I finally determined that my filter hadn't been replaced the 2+ yrs I had been away from the home and apparently that may have been what caused the capacitor in my outside unit to die. I searched online and found the part I needed, but was hesitant to buy it because it was going to take a few days to arrive and I couldn't stand to be in the house one more night in those conditions. After calling one previous HVAC company and not having my call returned I had reached the point of desperation. The entire event had already ruined a planned weekend out of town and I couldn't take it anymore. I came across Total Comfort, LLC on Angie's List and noticed that they had really good reviews and more importantly, late and weekend hours. After calling them only a few minutes before closing on a Friday evening I got ahold of some really understanding women, who I felt really empathized with me and seemed to want to bend over backwards to help remedy my situation. I was scheduled for an appointment the following afternoon, but was called back a few moments later and informed of a cancellation, which would allow the technician to arrive first thing in the morning. I was ecstatic.  The timeframe for arrival was between 8:30am and 11:00am. I received a call just after 8am but my ringer was down and didn't realize it. I'm guessing that I was being notified to expect the technician soon. The technician (Rob) arrived around 9am with a great big smile. He kept calling me sir (even though i'm fairly young), which made me feel like I was his number one priority. After explaining the problems I had with the system, he promptly headed to the outside unit to diagnose the problem, and he didn't seem to mind that I was watching the whole time. I was more curious and not necessarily trying to be a pain. He explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. After the diagnosis he gave me the estimate for the repairs, which was very reasonable, and began the work. It didn't take more than about 15-20 minutes for the repair....it actually took longer to fill out the receipt. As far as I was concerned, he could have stayed all day now that he had my A/C working again. Overall, I was very satisfied with the friendliness of the technician and the prompt service provided by Total Comfort, LLC and I will most definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to all who have HVAC service/repair needs.
