Owner Justin Morris is an alumni of Va. Tech with a BS in Civil Engineering. We pride ourselves in doing class A job at a competitive price. We provide the following services. Asphalt Paving, Concrete Construction, Demolition,Excavation, Grading, Site Preparation. Materials Delivery (Asphalt Millings, Crush Concrete, Gravel, Fill Dirt, Topsoil) Sod installation.
"I would not order anything from Roc Construction LLC. Their work may be of higher caliber (based on reviews likely not) however, if you are seeking quality product delivery Roc Construction LLC IS NOT where you want to order. Received product saturated with earth & fill that was supposed to be something else. Justin will refeence all his experience in construction to justify what he sent you is in fact what you ordered. Unfortunately, that may not be the case. You don't need to be a Civil Engineer (I am a licensed Civil Engineer) to realize you have been given something you didn't order. One Pro is their responsiveness. You will get "a" product in timely fashion however, in my experience, it will not be what you ordered. I recommend ordering from a reputable company with stronger reviews. Please don't lose thousands of dollars like I did."

Black Top Sealing is a family owned and operated business committed to giving you the best service to maintain your asphalt driveway so you do not have to spend money on replacing it. Sealcoating helps to eliminate the intrusion of water, sunlight, and chemical spills. It seals the asphalt to prevent evaporation of the liquid asphalt that binds the pavement together. This helps to prevent the asphalt from becoming brittle, cracking, and eroding. The cost of replacing asphalt is seven times what it would cost to maintain the original asphalt. This can amount to thousands of dollars, even for small a driveway.

"He told us he would be sending a receipt and warranty after completing the work 6/23/2020. He said he would come back and seal it in a few months. We were told not to drive on the driveway for 3 days. We waited a couple of days longer and when we tried to put our travel trailer back in the drive way our truck made ruts. Part of the paved area washed off at the ditch edge. He said he would come back and fix this however we have had great difficulty getting in contact with him. He does not return phone messages or text messages. He has not sealed the driveway as promised and we have not received the receipt or warranty he promised to send us. After calling and texting numerous times he has not responded. His phone message mailbox is often full or the message says you are calling "Florida Paving". He does not honor his promises and can not be relied on to complete the job after he is paid."

Calculating gravel requirements starts with measuring your driveway's length and width in feet. For a standard driveway, aim for approximately four inches of depth. Multiply these three dimensions to find cubic feet, then divide by 27 to convert to cubic yards. For example, a 24-foot by 12-foot driveway at four inches deep requires 3.5 cubic yards of gravel. Your specific needs may vary based on soil conditions and expected traffic.
Crusher run (also called crush and run) offers the most economical option, with prices ranging from $0.40 to $2 per square foot or $20 to $25 per cubic yard. This mixture of stone dust and crushed stone compacts well, making it ideal for functional applications like driveway bases.
Local quarry gravel also tends to be affordable due to minimal transportation costs. The trade-off comes in appearance—these budget options lack the decorative appeal of pricier alternatives.
A full truckload of pea gravel costs between $250 and $500, with pricing variations based on truck capacity, material type, and your location. Standard delivery trucks carry 10 to 15 cubic yards of material.
Ordering by the truckload often provides better value for larger projects compared to multiple smaller deliveries. Many suppliers include reasonable-distance delivery in these prices, making it an economical option for substantial projects.
Well-installed gravel surfaces can maintain their functionality for many years with proper maintenance. Traffic intensity, weather conditions, and installation quality all affect longevity. Regular maintenance—including raking displaced stones back into position and addressing drainage issues—extends useful life significantly.
Many homeowners find they need to add a refresher layer every few years, particularly in high-traffic areas or regions with severe weather conditions.
Adding gravel over an existing surface is possible with proper preparation. Start by thoroughly cleaning the current surface and addressing any significant damage or drainage issues. A stable foundation prevents shifting in your new layer. Consider adding a thin base layer before applying the decorative surface gravel.
Remember that adding material increases the overall height, which may affect garage entrances or property access points. When done correctly, this approach can refresh your driveway's appearance without complete reconstruction.
Gravel offers significantly lower initial costs at approximately $1 to $3 per square foot installed for standard types, compared to the substantially higher upfront investment for asphalt or concrete. However, gravel requires more frequent maintenance and occasional material replenishment.
Paved surfaces demand less regular attention but face expensive repairs when cracks or damage occur. Your decision should consider not just initial expense but also maintenance capabilities, climate conditions, and aesthetic preferences for your property.
