"I was really impressed with the quality and professionalism we received from Correct Energy. They gave us a fair price and performed the work almost immediately after the consultation. The end result was unbelievable too. The second floor is usually so hot but after the spray foam even without AC the temperature change was drastic, and it's far less noisy as well. I was also impressed with how well they taped off the walls, floors, and electrical to cut down on the mess afterwards. I didn't have to do any cleanup at all. Would highly recommend this company and we will be using their services in the future for subsequent projects."

"I was lucky to come across this company on home advisor, Michael, Devon, and Shane exceeded my expectations. They were quick and professional. These guys treated mold and replaced the insulation in my new home, and went as far as removing all of the junk left by the previous owners. My crawl space looks like a completely different home within the week it took them to complete the job. I couldn't have asked for a better job, and I intend to mention them whenever I hear someone in need of work!"

"Working with Overstate was the right choice. I had 3 companies coming in and giving me quotes to replace the entire roof , including installing new plywood since it was a cedar shake . Yani walked me through the whole process, we improved the venting which was a good thing and I got a brand new Owens Corning shingle roof . I?ll definitely recommend to friends and neighbours ."

"We recently built out new home and used Home Insulation Experts Inc for our insulation. We wanted to make sure we had a good exterior wall insulation package but also wanted good soundproofing to isolate the grandkids from the home office. Allen at Home Insulation Experts Inc helped design the right package for our needs and we came in on budget and on time. Great experience and would highly recommend them to anyone building or renovating for insulation installation services."

"After getting several quotes and learning about the various methods to accomplish attic insulation we decided to hire Advantage Insulation. Mike came on site to give us a free quote and did an excellent job of reviewing the options. We compared their quote to others and decided that encapsulating the attic roof and gables with spray foam was the correct solution. We did a combination of open cell and closed cell. On install day they arrived on site, Ed with a crew of five. We reviewed what needed to be done and then they got to work. They set up quickly and had 2 sprayers in the attic after about 30 minutes. Plastic was laid out on the entrance stairs and hallway to minimize the mess. The attic entryway was sealed off to keep debris from getting into the house. It took a few hours to complete the job. They cleaned up and were gone before I could even thank the crew for doing a great job. And what a difference in the heat loss. I can't express how wonderful it is to finally have a warm house. I heat with a pellet stove downstairs and a gas furnace. The pellet stove is now running on it's lowest setting and the furnace has not come on once since the install. Temps have been in the 20's. The attic temp is over 60 degrees. Best home upgrade we have ever done. Should have done it 40 years ago."

"They are a local company. They forced me to get a one year plan in order to get the coverage I needed. The quality of their work varied, some of it was reasonably good and some of it was a waste of money. I had a problem with wood chucks and they offered a service for it, in the end I felt it was expensive and really didn't give very good results. They dealt reasonably well with the fleas, although they aren't cheap. Dealing with the woodchucks, I didn't think that was very effective and I thought it was expensive. I wouldn't use them again for woodchucks at all, but I would use them for indoor issues like mice or fleas."

FAQs for batt, rolled or reflective insulation install or upgrade projects in Kingston, NY

Batt insulation excels in vertical installations because it remains firmly in place and delivers consistent thermal performance. Blown-in insulation performs exceptionally in spaces such as attics, efficiently filling gaps in irregular areas.

Employing both insulation types according to their strengths enhances your home’s overall energy efficiency and comfort by providing a tailored solution for every space.

Start by measuring the square footage of the space, then match that area with the insulation thickness you need to hit your target R-value. Add a buffer for waste and odd-shaped spots so every cavity is covered.

Once you have a rough count, run it past a local insulation pro—their on-site advice will fine-tune the numbers and help you avoid costly miscalculations.

Old insulation that is dry, intact, and mold-free does not require removal before adding new insulation; stacking new insulation over it maintains effective thermal performance and boosts energy efficiency.

If the insulation is damp, moldy, or deteriorated, removal is necessary to eliminate health risks and ensure maximum effectiveness of the new layer. A professional insulation contractor will assess your situation and recommend the most effective solution.

Installing insulation in an average-sized home using batts or boards requires five to 12 hours. Using spray foam or blown-in insulation requires two to five hours. These timeframes are determined by the area’s size, accessibility, and whether old insulation must be removed.

Complex projects and hard-to-reach spaces demand extra time. Hiring an experienced insulation professional ensures that the installation is completed efficiently and correctly.

Insulation is measured by R-value, which defines how effectively it resists heat flow. A higher R-value provides superior thermal resistance, ensuring your home remains warm in winter and cool in summer.

Choosing the correct R-value is essential for maximizing energy efficiency and comfort, and it directly impacts long-term utility savings. Professional guidance determines the optimal R-value for your specific climate.
