Customers say: Super punctual

"We have known and been working with AP builders for a couple of years now, doing many different projects on my home including siding, landscaping, hot water heater, painting... you name it, they do it! And for a great price too! The jobs were all done quickly, on budget and professionally. I would recommend them to anyone for any project, big or small! And yes, I'm a REAL customer (not a family member or bot). My name is Chris and I live in the Northwest Suburbs."

"Matt completed a multiple room renovation in my house, which included a kitchen, breakfast area, 2 bathrooms and a family room with a new vaulted ceiling! I absolutely love the new look of my home and it could not have happened without Matt and his team! I sincerely thank him for treating my house as if it was his own and I could not be happier with the results!"

"It was great! Mr Murphy came out to show us his sunroom designs. It was exactly what we wanted. We were able to customize as to exactly match our brick and roof along with other details. He then sent a 3D image with all details along with a very detailed price list. We signed the contract then waited until after the winter to start. Everything went perfect! They obtained the permit, They had great, carpenters, electricians, tile professional and woodworker to attend to every detail. We are delighted, after a recent storm with near 60 mph winds coming right at us from an empty cornfield, not a creek or a moan could be heard. It's so well constructed. Armando, in the shop was always available to answer every question and make sure everything was taken care of."

"We signed the contract to have a three season sunroom added to our house in April, then waited 3 months for the city to approve permits.  They started building the room in July, and it was finished in September,  There were only minor problems, and they fixed all of them at the end.  The only frustration I had was that I would have likaed more communication about when people were or weren't going to show up to work.  Overall, we are very happy with the room, and I would recommend this builder."

"A lot went wrong with this project but all in all Albar came through and did a fine job. First I want to say the entire Albar team (sales, office & installers) are really nice people and easy to work with. I am a very demanding consumer and they tried to please me every step of the way. My salesman Jim was very knowledgeable and was always there when I needed him.
Now the details: I did quite a bit of research and settled on Sunrise windows. Then I looked around and got quotes from 4 Sunrise dealers. Albar's pricing was fair and I felt the most comfortable with them so I ordered from Jim. The windows took about 4 weeks to arrive after I ordered them but getting them installed took a while as Albar was very busy and the gentleman that was originally scheduled to do the work had injured himself.
When the day came to install the windows and patio door the crew showed up on time and I must say they were very nice guys; very neat and respectful. The entire project was supposed to take 1 day but the patio door alone took 1 day. As they started to look at the windows they realized some parts to the windows were missing and needed to be ordered from the factory. So, another few  weeks pass and they install the windows and as they are installing them they notice the hardware is all broken (from the factory). They call in the rep from Sunrise who agrees that the windows are broken and orders the parts. Another week passes and the service tech from Sunrise comes and fixes the windows and we are all set. Well almost; there was some caulking around the patio door that needed to be done, so once again the installers returned and finished the job. I am very satisfied with the job although it took much longer to complete than anticipated.
I give them very high marks all around but I think my biggest criticism would be the communication between the office and myself as I had to initiate almost all the communications. I do plan on using Albar for the other 10 windows I need replaced and would recommend them to others (I already have).

"The vendor called on the way in order to let me know he was in route. The outside temperature was 8 degrees so it was cold. He inspected the location I had selected for suitability, access and safety giving me several options. Never having done any outside wiring I relied on his experience. The vendor supplied all parts at my instruction so he was ready to go upon arrival.
The job required drilling a hole through wood support resting on the concrete basement wall, bending pipe to reach the service panel. He then added a weather proof shelter for the outlet, sealed it, then tested the outlet, giving me instructions on how to properly run an electrical cord (extension cords for the most part) from the 'Bubble Box' and how to check and reset the CGFI.
It was brutally cold outside making the installation more difficult I am sure but you never would have known it. He cut through the vinyl siding without tearing or splitting it, not and easy task in 8 degree temperature, then carefully sealed the 'Bubble Box' and around the cuts to make sure no moisture would enter the outlet or vinyl siding. The appearance after installation was excellent.
Overall the experience was positive and I definitely recommend this vendor to other Angie's List customers requiring an electrician.

"There were delays due to weather - attempting to install solar in the winter months has the issues of snow and cold spells. The permitting process was also fairly awful (completely due to the fact my township hasn't ever had solar installed) and ended up adding two months to the wait. Otherwise the install went smoothly and the livening was straightforward. I did get to learn about interconnects, net metering, solar generation, smart meters, and the like."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in La Grange, IL

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
