Kyle understood my problem, came up with a solution and then very efficiently dealt with it. It was fixed in a very timely manner. His professionalism did not go unnoticed. At my request, he then inspected my roof and sent me a report and over 50 pictures of his findings. Happily I do not need a new roof for quite sometime. "I went on to your website to locate a licensed and insured company that would complete various jobs around my house. This job in particular was for the replacement of wood siding on a back lanai area, along with installing nine windows and four doors. It was originally eight windows, but the replacements changed that. Anyway, I found Carroll's company through angi, and we interviewed him, and he assured us (my wife and I) that the job would be done professionally, without any problems, especially with permitting because I am and always have been anxious about them. I made it a point to bring this up in every conversation with both Carrol and Jason, the foreman that was working here. We were assured that they would provide the permit to have the job done properly. The contract was originally signed on the second of July, and given the time difference of when it was signed and when they actually started work in September I had thought that was the time needed to get the permit required. Fast forward to today, almost three months later and they are still stringing me along. Last friday, I got fed up with the whole time table and confronted Jason about why this is taking so long given that our garage door was just installed as well which was permitted by the City. He then finally broke down and explained that they do not even have a license in the city to get permits. Now what do I do? So I just went on and found this webform. I was also under the impression that this company I used had a larger work force than four guys who showed up pretty much when they wanted and left when they wanted after they started work. This entire thing has just been horrible, the level of stress I've got of the city just showing up now, saying its not in compliance for any reason, and then it has to get torn out. There are even signs in the permitting office that say if you dont have a permit then the job could cost double! Double? That would be hard to afford given the current times we are all in. So Im in a bind here, with contractors that are trying to run the clock out on me complaining to them so I just forget it. I can send you all the email exchanges, and any other documentation you would need including photos of the before and after. I mean we have a two year old in this house, we cant just rip windows out because of a permit not getting filed. Thats the level of anxiety I'm at with all of this. I just want this fixed without having to pay an enormous amount to the city because of the contractors mistake. Please help."
