"I was glad with how fast, friendly, easy it went for me to turn it in and get results quickly. They helped with my Angie's discount so it was good to know i got the best price (less than I imagined) to have this done. The possibility of having mold in a house is stressful enough... glad to have this go smoothly."

"The test kit came promptly. We prepared it, sent it back, and received the report the next week. The report itself was quite limited, and not nearly as in depth as the annual report filed by our municipal water company. We expected more detail and were disappointed."

"I paid extra for the "green" pest control option, as I care about the environment and have chronic health issues that can be exacerbated by industrial chemicals. Every couple of treatments I would get an invoice stating that they had applied regular pesticides, although they continued to charge me extra for the "green" stuff. Each time, I would call and have the charges reversed and remind them to apply the non-toxic option, but it kept happening. I finally got fed up and cancelled."

"The inspection was fantastic. Inspected an older home so it took quite a while. Left no stone unturned so to speak. Received full report of the inspection the morning after the inspection. Included photos of the problem areas broken down by inside, outside, kitchen, attic, etc. Excellent work, would highly recommend. <br />"

"They were amazing!! My son has a medical condition we were wanting to have the air vents cleaned. Not only did rytech do an exceptional job, but they also sanitize the air vents and the air coming out of the vents. We are extremely pleased. We have less dust in our home and the air seems cleaner. They were on time and clean up after themselves. I am thankful we found them. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again."

"Jason assessed the situation over the phone and set up an appointment for the following afternoon. Before the appointment, he wanted to make certain that we had extracted all the water. Otherwise, his course of action would have been to help us schedule the cleanup. Jason also gave us a reasonable expectation of minimum costs prior to the appointment. There was no estimate, but we knew the hourly cost and the cost to run each mold sample. I felt I had some idea of what to expect to pay before I agreed to the appointment. Glenn was running late for the appointment, but notified me in plenty of time so that it did not inconvenience me. Once he arrived, he wasted no time. He quickly assessed the situation and surveyed all the affected areas. He found moisture in a few areas and gave us simple, explicit instructions for how to handle the problem. I was very glad we called him because he was able to reassure us about many of the affected areas, and he found problems (moisture) where I had not thought to look. Glenn's approach was practical, down-to-earth, and efficient. His remedies were quick, effective, and relatively simple. Although his fees sounded costly at first, I believe his expertise saved us money. For instance, we were planning to remove all the sheetrock that was involved in the quick flood, but Glenn's assessment told us we had no moisture or mold problem, and verified that the sheetrock was dry and stable. This, alone, saved us a good bit of time, money, and inconvenience. He followed up with a detailed written report. This was good because we needed something to show insurance. In our case, wood floors had been damaged in the flood, and insurance photographs did not show the damage. Glenn's report verified that the floors needed to be removed. Additionally, his report gave us written instructions for continuing the cleanup. When I realized he charged an hourly rate that sounded rather steep, I was very careful about moving things along during Glenn's appointment. However, he did not waste any time. We kept it under an hour and I still felt I got my money's worth. Most of all, I got much-needed peace of mind that I wasn't going to be living in a mold-infested house for years to come. As for the overall value: I'm not sure how to value an expert opinion. Glenn did not DO the work, although I believe his company can provide that service. However, he was very encouraging to us while were doing the work ourselves. In my case, he helped to assure me that I had done the work properly and gave me a course of action to complete the work. I needed that kind of advice, because I have never dealt with standing water or flooding before. I hope I never do again, but if I do... I'll certainly call RTC."

FAQs for toxicity and mold removal projects in Lafayette, LA

Remediation should keep mold from returning as long as the moisture source is eliminated. Fix leaks, control humidity, and replace water-damaged materials, then schedule periodic inspections to stay ahead of new growth. With those safeguards, your home can stay mold-free for the long haul while protecting both health and property value.

Most pros recommend leaving the home while they work on mold remediation. Removing mold stirs up airborne spores that can aggravate respiratory issues, and contractors can work more efficiently in an empty space. A short, temporary relocation keeps everyone in your family safe and lets the crew finish the job without interruption.

Mold shouldn’t return once the moisture problem is fixed. Stay vigilant: repair leaks right away, keep humidity below 50 percent with a dehumidifier placed in damp areas, and improve ventilation where needed. Routine checks for leaks and mold and quick repairs go a long way toward keeping your home mold-free.

Mold spores can trigger nasal congestion, throat irritation, coughing, wheezing, eye irritation, or skin rashes. People with asthma, allergies, or weakened immune systems often feel the effects sooner and more intensely. Some molds also release mycotoxins linked to serious respiratory or neurological issues. Swift remediation and better ventilation are the best defenses.
