"A first time apartment owner and landlord, I needed major plumbing services within the first 6 months of ownership. "Alan came out same day within couple of hours to clear a clogged bathtub drain. Worked on it for some time, went above and beyond to get it drained but no luck' House is 50 + years old with cast iron pipes so I was not surprised when he said ones under the tub needed to be replaced. Had been giving us trouble for several years and had been getting worse. He wrote a proposal and said he could do the next day as it was too late to start that day. James the owner showed up early next morning and went over what needed to be done. Gave a fair price and Alan showed up hr or so later and got started. Worked all day bless his heart. Got drain running smoothly. It's been about 2 weeks and all still going great. Have had a number of plumbing jobs done in the past by different companies but James Degennaro was by far the best. Both he and Alan were great and professional and did great work and clean up. .Would absolutely hire again and recommend . So glad I found them. "The BEST plumbing services we had!!, They were on time, professional, efficient and very clean. They put down plastic to keep the house clean and diagnosed the leak from the master bathroom shower, discussed the options and prices before proceeding. Cut the dry wall, replaced the leaking pipes and all done within 45 minutes !! EXCELLENT!!"

Rooter came promptly.

Did the needed work quickly.

Then told my property manager that we need to remove and replace an old and deteriorated sewer pipe at total cost of $2563.When I questioned this further, he provided an estimate and explained that the pipe was old and deteriorated and needed to be replaced.

I then spoke with our regular plumber.  He reviewed the situation and concluded that while YES the pipe is old and will not last forever, NO we should NOT replace the pipe based on one backup during the four years we've owned the property and can probably wait for years before replacement is needed.  Further, Mr. Rooter did not follow the common practice of sending a camera down the system to fully examine for problems before recommending a high cost repair. 

That's the bad news.  NOW THE GOOD NEWS.  When I complained, the owner promptly called me and politely asked what went wrong.  He wanted to make sure he understood every detail of the interaqction and he acknowledged that his employee made an error in pushing as firmly as he did for the repair.  He apologized and said he'd be more careful about outlining options in the future.  He DIDN'T ask me to change my review.  Simply offered to do better next time.

My revised opinion.  This guy is for real.  He probably won't be my first choice next time, but I would go back to him for minor repairs or for a second quote on a big job.  So don't take it on faith if they say you need an expensive repair and do ask to speak with the boss in detail.

"Unfortunately, I needed an HVAC company to fix my AC during a heat wave. Most companies were 5+ days out before they could even diagnose our problem. Called 3 highly visible companies, from their marketing, who said they wouldn't even work on our unit. I went with a referral from a neighbor, mistake. This company took a week to get to us then the tech went MIA for 5 days with no contact when he said he would be back tomorrow with parts. Won't mention their name as there could have been multiple uncontrollable reasons why. I then did a lot of research on different companies across multiple review websites (including Angies) and Excel Air stood out. Once I spoke to the office staff, great experience, they had a tech out to our home in 2 days with our problem diagnosed. Our tech's name was Lucas who was efficient with his time, talked me through what was going on and gave us our estimate which we were happy to move forward with. Lucas fixed our problem in under 20 minutes. Me being me, I watched each step and saw the quality work. He even put in a fuse to ensure the same problem didn't happen again to our transformer. Once he fixed everything and got our new thermostat power, our AC has been working perfectly ever since. I'm now a really big supporter of Excel Air. Their office staff worked with our insurance company after hours and actually updated us (what company does this these days) the entire way. I can't tell you how impressed I was from their office, Lucas and most of all their successful resolution of our problems with our AC. Thank you Excel Air!"
