"After a thorough look for a tree company to remove some trees I came across Guido’s Landscaping and tree removal. I reached out got ahold of Michael. He was very knowledgeable about my situation after agreeing on a price I hired them. There was very clear communication all the way through the process they took care Of the job, cleaned up and left everything as it was before they arrived. I would definitely recommended and hire them again especially being a veteran owned company. Yes member you have to go the rooms because he did bigges"

My affinity for stonework began at an early age. Growing up in New England I often witnessed many examples of quality stonework. I began working with stone in my early 20s with a landscape contractor in central Massachusetts. Without having the luxury of an apprenticeship, I learned the trade through many books and established my own style. I began working for other stone masons when I moved to the Asheville area. The many different projects I worked on included large scale renovations of hiking trails to small scale renovations of flower beds. These projects gave me a wide base of knowledge that have broadened my understanding of stonework. With this experience I started my own business Stonesmith. We specialize in traditional stone laying methods including retaining walls, walkways, staircases, fireplaces, chimneys and more. I knew early on I wanted the quality of my work to match the eternal nature of stone. In New England, if stonework was done improperly, you would find out as soon as winter had thawed. It is with that mentality that I build a solid investment with stone. Received the highest score ever given for the initial certification by the DSWA by instructor Sean Adcock Member of the Stone Foundation http://www.stonefoundation.org/

"We recently had some work done by Matt Smith and his crew. We would be happy to recommend him for any stonework you could want. Mat’s crew of five or six men are a wonder. They are hard-working, obviously very strong, and take great pride in the quality of their work. They will take time to answer any questions you might have, and they are thoughtful, polite, neat and tidy, and know their jobs. The stone patio they made for us is beyond anything we could have hoped for. At the end of the job they did a thorough cleanup and left our place neat and tidy. I might mention that Matt studied with Tomas Lipps, the founder and editor of Stonemasonry Magazine and one of America’s finest stone masons. It’s no wonder that Matt is in demand. My final bit of praise is in regard to the cost: it was quite reasonable— I’m happy to say. I wish we had another job for Stonesmith to take on."

NC Landscape Contractor specializing in landscaping, lawn maintenance, tree service, Spring & Fall cleanup services, native stone walkways and patios, pond and waterfall installation. Professional, experienced, and dependable. Call us directly at 828-778-4272.

"Rick was on time for every appointment and did an excellent job. His 40+ years of experience in the Waynesville/Asheville area played a huge role in every plant and landscaping material choice he recommended (some I would have never thought of), and the final product was more than I could have ever imagined. He took into account some of the recommendations that we had, crafted them into a much better design, and talked us out of a few that would not have worked. I recommend Advanced Landscaping for all of your landscape needs. His company will always have follow-on work with us, as we have many more projects planned. Excellent to work with, personable, totally professional, an industry expert, and more. A++"

We offer free quotes and consultation and belong to the Better Business Bureau with references available. Applications include driveways, sidewalks, patios, pool decks, basements, footings, curbs, steps, scales etc.

"The overall work went well. However, there was a defect in the concrete near our front door, in plain site, and very visible, where the concrete was cracked and broken just days after the project was completed and we had paid in full. We called multiple times and never received a return call. We then sent an email which he returned and set up a time for repair. This repeated itself for 3 separate events, with the patch failing every time. The last time we heard from him was 4 months ago when he said " I will be glad to come out and address the issue. I will contact you when I have a date." That was in July! Based on their poor customer service, after being paid $36,000, I would not recommend Cane Creek Concrete to any of my neighbors or anyone else."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Lake Lure, NC

A properly maintained gravel driveway can last 100 years. But this requires you to get regular top-ups of gravel—which you should do at least once a year. If your road gets heavy traffic, consider topping up the gravel a few times a year.

There are many ways to maintain your gravel driveway, and regular maintenance requires you to use a heavy-duty rake to clear off debris and level out the road. You should also fix any potholes, ruts, or bulges as soon as possible. This is also important to avoid pooling water which can erode the driveway. Gravel costs $2 to $8 per bag.

You can re-grade or resurface well-worn roads for $0.50 to $2.20 per square foot. If you decide to install a new layer of gravel, consider adding a layer of landscaping fabric underneath, which costs $20 to $70 per 100-foot roll.

Additionally, if you are in an area that gets a lot of snow, consider skipping the snowplow or hiring a pro. You should leave an inch of snow on the ground and let it compact before attempting any snow removal.

It depends. If you choose a local (which doesn't have a set-in-stone definition) gravel, you cut down on the fossil fuels needed to transport the gravel from hundreds or thousands of miles away. Crushed stone also makes an excellent choice for repaving a driveway with local gravel.

It’s wise to install drainage under your gravel driveway. Your contractor will install the piping at least 18 inches below the surface to account for vehicles’ weight. In many cases, the contractor will dig an L-shaped trench along the driveway to lead the water away.
