"Poorly. The chemicals were usually maintained adequately, but not always. One time when we had a major clarity issue, it took me reaching out to the technician directly (who was the one employee who seemed to care about the service provided by the company) in order for it to be remedied. The major issue I had was that their technician broke our pool chlorinator while removing the cap to replace the chlorine tabs. I realize that this sort of thing can happen, so it was not a big deal. However, it was an integral part of our system, so it needed to be replaced. Without it in place, the pool pump/filter could not be run, as it would simply pump all the water out of the pool. The technician said he would put in a work order for repair. I did not hear from them for two days, so I called them, Apparently, the technician never put in the work order, or the company simply ignored it, because they had no record of the issue. They worked up an estimate, and said I would have to pay $304 for the repair. When I told them the system was fine prior to the technician arriving, and was broken by him, they simply said their technician informed them that the item was broken under normal maintenance procedures, and that they could only repair it under the terms of the estimate they sent me. I informed them that the reason it broke was that the technician had previously tightened the cap too tight, which required an extreme amount of force to remove, thereby breaking the chlorinator. I had looked at the chlorinator, and noticed that the technician had installed the cap so tight that it had squeezed the silicone seal out of the cap. i also informed them that i had already replaced the seal once due to their technician over tightening the cap. I was again told the same statement about them only being able to repair the item under the terms of the estimate provided to me. They never offered to have someone come out and look at the broken item, or anything else to make me feel better about using their services. It seemed to me that they had experienced issues before, as their response was very canned, as if it had been written by their attorney. So, I canceled my service with them, and have repaired the issue and am looking to move on to another company. I called the original technician, who seems to me to be a responsible and knowledgeable individual, to inform him of the issue with the chlorinator. I did not expect anything from him, and simply wanted to let him know what type of company he was working for, as I feel he deserved better. He told me he no longer works for them, because of how unprofessional they are. I am writing this because of the high marks I see for professional Aquatic Services on Angie's List. In general, the service I have received has never been very good. They have usually taken care of the chemical balance in the pool, which is quite straightforward, but have not done much else. The report I receive weekly states the chemical levels when checked and any chemicals added during the visit. They have rarely gelled with the measurements I checked, but were not an issue, so I never said anything. They were supposed to also clean out the skimmer basket and the pump basket. This was always checked off as completed in the report. I work from home, and have been present almost every time the technician has come by. The only time I saw anybody clean the skimmer basket was when the original technician did the servicing, when they were understaffed. The later technicians seemed under trained. I cleaned out the pump basket in May, and it was 1/3 full of acorn caps from the live oaks in our yard. We had a squirrel fall through our lanai screen in early March, so a lot of acorn caps got into our pool. We had the lanai screen replaced in early March, so those caps had been in the pump basket for two months or so. I generally prefer to use local, family owned businesses, but felt it was necessary to share my experiences with Professional Aquatic Services."

"It;s not every day that you have the owner of the company come out to pitch a sale. Mike was very informative, he is friendly and he knows his business. He gave us a great deal on our new pool heater. They were very responsive and did and excellent job with installation."

FAQs for swimming pool heaters installation and replacement projects in Lake Monroe, FL

Yes, you can add a heater to an existing pool. A pro can retrofit a heater to nearly any in-ground or above-ground pool. Adding a heater allows you to start the swim season earlier, finish it later, and maintain a steady water temperature in between. Many owners schedule the job during a larger pool upgrade, but it also works as a standalone project. Professional installation ties the new unit into the existing pump and plumbing for safe, efficient operation.

Most owners switch the heater on a day or two before they plan to swim, then shut it down afterward. Reaching the target temperature can take 24 to 72 hours, depending on pool size and outdoor conditions. Using a cover while the heater is off helps hold the heat and keeps energy costs in check.

Pool heaters can freeze if left exposed to extreme conditions. Freezing can damage internal heater components, potentially leading to costly pool repairs. Cycling water, covering the heater, and regular maintenance help prevent freezing. Sealing or winterizing your heater also protects it during the season—this involves draining water from the heater and its components.

Pool heaters operate with lifespans spanning from seven to 30 years. Gas and propane models last seven to 12 years, while electric and solar heaters perform efficiently for up to 30 years. Consistent professional maintenance and routine inspections extend the heater’s life and improve its performance, ensuring a safe and reliable heating system for your pool.

Before hiring a pool heater installation contractor, conduct thorough research by reviewing online feedback and gathering recommendations from trusted sources. Contact multiple professionals to discuss pricing, request references, and understand the complete installation process. This careful evaluation ensures you select a qualified contractor who delivers high-quality service and a successful installation.
