"We called multiple companies to repair our Sliding Patio door as it was worn and extremely hard to open or close. One company quoted us $9k to replace it and it would take 3 months until they could do it. I called around other places and none got back to me. Town and Country came out within a few days, told us that they could repair it, and could be back to fix it in less than a week. They came out, fixed it, stuck to the quote and it actually works better then when it was new. i would recommend them to anyone!"

Customers say: Quick response

"Andre is a gem of a find as it goes with contractors these days. He does what he says he is going to do, shows up, and is a great problem solver! I hired him for multiple jobs on our total remodel: extensive drywall repairs including ceiling, range fan hood installation, kitchen faucet and plumbing conversion for single sink to double, bathroom and full length closet slider new door installs, minor relocation of our range outlet and deck powerwashing. All these jobs were done very well and any bumps in the road were tackled with the kind of creativity you can only get from a deep base of knowledge and experience. One of his most admirable traits is his persistence; he just doesn't let a project get the best of him. He was always willing to share knowledge, which was invaluable for me as a first time "general contractor". We will most definitely be asking him over to our new house if we have the need!"

"Called Glasscrafters with the measurement. Owner told me he could come out in a couple of days and look the situation over which was fine. It had been broken for quite a while and was the inside pane of a double glass window. Came out in a couple of days, measured the window, quoted me the price which was fine and said he would order it and it would be 3-5 business days. We were leaving the following week so we figured it would not be received in time before we left, but it actually did come in the day we left, but we were leaving early so I told the owner that when we got back we would have him come and install it. Got back from vacation and he came out and installed it the next day. Fast and no issues with the installation. Very professional and I definitely would hire this company again. <br />"

"Very nicely. They did say I could get basic replacement at Home Depot and it didn’t sound like they’d charge me for visit.., I elected to get a door built with heavy duty quality & pet-durable screen. It fits great after a lot of adjusting in their install & I have been quite happy."

"Eric did an extremely conscientious job of cleaning my windows, which were very dirty. He spent almost 3-1/2 hours on the windows, sliding glass door, and skylight. On some windows, he cleaned them as many as three times to remove the grime to his satisfaction. He also cleaned the frames, screens, and grooves thoroughly. Besides being very diligent, I found Eric to be very friendly, communicative, and courteous. I would not hesitant to recommend him."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Lake Oswego, OR

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
