McDonough's Services returned my call the same day I called them, and scheduled cleaning the pipe(s) the following day. I received another call the next day confirming someone would be out, and the technician called shortly after that to let me know he would be arriving within an hour, which he did. Chad was personable, and started the job right away.  He cleaned the pipes--to make sure they were clear--but he thought the major problem was the old cap he found lodged inside the pipe; this lodged cap prevented the water from draining properly and so the water backed up from our drain into our laundry room.  Chad said the cap was difficult to get out.  We are very grateful he found it as our laundry room flooding situation has been going on for a long time.  We were very pleased with McDonough?s Services, and would definitely hire them again.

They gave me a competitive quote and took care of it right away within 72 hours. They organized all the permits, traffic control, everything. "The plumber from Randy Lane did a good job of the plumbing work and also a very good job of explaining what he was doing. Our house is fairly old and a lot of sections of copper pipe were corroded. As we can not afford to do all of them at once, we had to replace just the pipes and sections that are most corroded and/or leaky. The plumber helped me prioritize which sections should be re-piped now, and which ones could reasonably be watched and replaced in the future. He explained this clearly and without pressure, then when I decided on the best approach he got to work on it. "We had a clog in our kitchen drain, which we were unable to remove ourselves with plunging and chemical drain cleaners. I called on a Friday morning. Burkhardt plumbers arrived at my house at 3:00 that day. They were polite, professional, and careful about cleanliness. It ended up being a more complicated job than just a drain, as our original 1959 plumbing was configured in a complicated way. They were very knowledgeable about figuring out how everything was put together and how to find the clog, which was in a pipe in the basement, nearly 40 feet away from the kitchen sink. After using an auger from the kitchen sink, they hit a T-joint through which the auger refused to go, so they took the auger to the basement, opened the drainage pipe that leads to the sewer pipe, and inserted the auger there. That's where the major portion of the clog was. They ran the auger up the pipe this time and got past the T-joint. After they had cleared the clog, they were very careful about cleaning the auger as they removed it from the pipe. Then they went upstairs to the kitchen and reassembled all the drain pipes under the sink, which I had removed before they came in an attempt to fix the clog myself. They did a great job! They patiently explained everything they were doing, so I could learn and better understand my house's plumbing. They explained how to prevent future clogs, what to do and what not to do. These are great guys! The next time I have a plumbing problem, I know who I'll call."
