"They arrived on time and installed the unit and new thermostat. The technicians seemed pretty knowledgeable and helped give suggestions about some vents that weren't blowing enough air."

"Everyone I came in contact with was a delight to work with, from Ryan H., to Tyler, to the 2 service installers Dustin & Riley, to their supervisor Ryan & the receptionists! I highly recommend, as the work was done professionally & efficiently by courteous, motivated, happy employees and at the price quoted. This experience was a breath of fresh air after the 12 year nightmare with my old unit (a different company) that they replaced for me. I anticipate lower electric Bill's also, as the new unit operates effortlessly & much quieter compared to the old. I don't mind the price as much for the quality of product and service. Thank you all! Peggy"

"We feel fortunate to have found Pacific Heating and Cooling, they've been servicing our furnace for years. We always ask for Nathan, he knows our system, he likes our dogs and he is always up front about what if anything we need to keep an eye on and what the cost will be when it does come time to take care of it. We have had other technicians come out, they were fine also but Nathan we just really like. We always feel we can trust the work that has been done."

"Quote was middle of the road compared to competition, i checked 5 total contractors, but got their best unit so decent value. Workers were quick and friendly. My downside with them was when we did the quote and install everything seemed fine, but a couple days later (well after electrical was done and certified) i was called and informed that they would need to remove some emergency coils and breaker switch because my power box couldn't handle it after all. I made a request for a refund for the parts i paid for and were now being taken. I got no immediate response, this was just before summer. When my free season inspection came around, from winter into spring, i again asked for a refund. The mechanic made a call and the filter as well as a new sensor switch ( switch was needed because the unit stopped working when the seasons changed for some reason) were free as compensation in lue of refund. Took a while but was satisfied. That mechanic was friendly and competent too. I love the unit they installed and would give them a second chance, but might get my own inspection before signing off for work completion and payment."

"Services were provided on time and in a professional manner. They managed to install a gas furnace, ac, and install duct work while doing minimal damage to the house. The technicians were on time, clean, and well mannered. Over all Ranger heating did exactly what I hired them to do with minimal interruption to my life, finishing the job on time, with out damage, and the house was cleaner when they left then it was when they started. <br />"

"I had three estimates at our house for our conversion from a gas forced-air furnace to a heat pump/gas furnace installation.  I was most impressed by Evergreen's rep. Scott, as he was very helpful in explaining the technology and was the only one of the three to do a J load calculation on our home.  I also felt after the estimates were all given that Evergreen's was the best buy in terms of the product features vs. overall cost.   As I researched our installation I realized that my mother's all-electric home would be better served by a heat pump as well.  Again, Scott did the best job of all three estimators there as well.   <br> <br>After the down payment of 50% of the cost the installation was set up within two weeks for both locations.  The work was done on time and efficiently.  My mother's job was done in a few hours, mine took a couple of days.  I'm happy to say that both units are performing perfectly, through both the colder weather of March and the warmer than usual days we've had in April.   <br> <br>There were a couple of things that should be mentioned, not major issues but worth noting.   <br> <br>The installation of our heat/pump and furnace did not meet City Code on the initial inspection as the condensation pump was placed on the floor.   City code required it to be 18 inches off the floor due to a potential for an explosion should there be a gas leak.  The correction was done within a few days, but I did have to schedule a city inspector on two different days.   The city inspector remarked that the installer 'should have known better'.   <br> <br>On my mom's split heat pump the indoor blower unit began making a loud clanking noise one month into use.  Evergreen was quick to come out, mom called on Sunday morning and was able to have a crew come out the next day.  Apparently the installers had missed a mounting clip on the external cover of the indoor unit and over time the casing sagged enough that the rotating fans began to hit the inside of the case.   <br> <br>Several weeks after our work was done I was called by the financial office asking me to pay the remaining 50% balance.  I pointed out that it had been paid on the day the work was done, but apparently the payment was not correctly registered as having been paid by their accounting office.  Fortunately I was able to point to my credit card statement indicating that the balance had been paid in full.   <br> <br>Overall Evergreen did a professional job from start to finish and I have no hesitation in recommending them.  Given their expertise and experience I have no doubt that my equipment will continue to be well serviced going forward.  "

"Our existing AC unit stopped working. The unit is at it's life end and was not something we purchased from Puyallup heating. It came with our home when we purchased it. Jason diagnosed the problem in a professional and courteous manner. I felt like the service was worth the price. We have used Puyallup heating for service or estimates in the past and always felt like we were getting honest service. <br />"

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Lakewood, WA

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
