"Mark Hendrickson returned my call promptly, and came to my house that afternoon to look over the site and to give me an estimate and a time frame. On the day of the job, he arrived right on time and had made arrangements with another company to have my septic pumped out, prior to the repair work. Even though this was a relatively small job, Mark and his son who works with him, were professional and polite through the whole process. The cost was $300 for the actual repair and digging and $300 to have the septic pumped out. I would not hesitate to use Mark Hendrickson Excavating again, they were great to work with!"

"Mostly happy with the work done. This project turned into a total revamp of my back yard and it was expensive but the cost was appropriate. They graded my lawn, installed a patio, a french drain, tied in the gutters to the french drain, created a gravel area for my dogs and over seeded my back yard as well as put up a temp fence to protect the new grass from my dogs and shored up my fence from the inside to prevent digging/potential escape. Estimates were clear & concise (Molly is awesome!). The team was fantastic, very professional and knowledgeable. It took about 5 days and those men worked HARD! The only flaw is that the french drain does not work efficiently. I have reached out to Tom many times and although he stopped by to look at the problem once, it has not been resolved."

When the excavator was working, I didn't really understand when he asked if we wanted to "feather" the uneven ground around the pool- so now we have a lot of ground without the grass that was there because the feathering was put over top of the grass - killing it. Overall, I would recommend C&D's. They were very responsive every step."

"Well, I scheduled well in advance fr 8:30 on the Tuesday morning. At 10:00 I called because nobody had called or shown up and I had to leave for work. I was asked if I still wanted someone to come out because it was cold and it had rained the day before. I said "yes" and I was told two guys would be there in about a half hour. 45 minutes later a truck pulled up in front of my house and two guys sat there until 11 when they got out and told me they had the wrong street number and were not sure which house to go to. Well, they were very nice and I told them exactly what I wanted done. When I had to leave for work, I told them the existing leaves on the grass did not have to be done if they ran out of time because I could pick ten up with my lawn mower. I came home after dark and the next day was very excited to look at my back yard leaf free. The perimeter of the yard where the beds were was mostly leaf free, but what they did was blow all the leaves from the back yard onto the grass, leaving  leaves as much as a foot deep in places which was way too much for my little lawnmower to handle. I tried calling Brett and left him a message telling him my concerns. Later in the afternoon my husband and I decided to tackle the daunting job of removing all the leaves. After about two hours, we got the grass totally free of leaves and made a huge pile of leaves in the back corner of the yard and in addition took out 10 bags of leaves to the curb. Brett did call me back and when he heard what happened was very apologetic and volunteered to come back out. I told him it would be very nice if they would like to haul off all the leaves we had gathered. He said he would be by Saturday. On Saturday they showed up just as I was leaving the house and I was very pleased....until I came home! They very kindly had decided to not only haul off the huge pile of leaves that I had created from the wrk I had done, but they decided they did not get all the leaves in the flower beds the previous time so they would get them this time. So, they blew all the remaining leaves onto the grass which at that point had not even one leaf on it, and left me a yard full of leaves to get rid of - again! So back to the yard I went to mow and rake the leaves up, and in some spots they were taller than the front of the lawnmower so I had the problem again of picking them up. So, are they nice? Absolutely. Were they willing to come back at no charge to fix up their mess? Absolutely. Did they fix the problem? Well, partially by removing all the gahered leaves in the back, but in the interim, they recreated the first problem. I feel bad not giving them rave reviews because Brett and the other two workers seemed genuinely nice. But three hours of leaf raking after paying $199 to have it done just does not make me want to give them rave reviews.

"Davinson and Arthur Gallardo are professionals in every way. They were on time, careful of everything on my property, and they did everything they said they would do, and more. I was not exactly sure how I wanted the walkways to look, and they came up with an idea that was perfect. They used all of the existing materials I had on my lawn to create my new walkways, thereby saving me considerable money. In addition, they were very nice to do business with, which is always a plus. When pricing out my job, they gave me every cost, so there were no surprises. Also, I found their prices to be certainly competitive, yet better than the others, based on the amount of work they did for me. It was done on time, very professional. and they cleaned up everything after themselves, they advised me that after 3 days, I could drive on it, to have the paving settled and completely dried up, and they did an excellent job. "I wrote a negative review of Rightaway after having a disappointing experience involving a ~$4k mold remediation+sump pump installation job, during which the firm broke a pipe and failed to repair it properly, according to two plumbers who came out afterwards. I noticed the problem a few months later when I rechecked the crawlspace after my backup sump pump battery alarm went off following some heavy rains. We had Rightaway out again that point (Al arranged the visit of one of his colleagues while he himself was on vacation) and were told by Al that we’d get an estimate for waterproofing the area as a second job. He also denied responsibility for what we believe was a poor repair job of the pipe. After a month of texts with Al, the owner, we hadn’t received an estimate. I should note that Al was very responsive via texts during this time and gave reasons for the delay. For example, he told me over text once that he did not have the right phone number or email address for us. After being solicited by Rightaway for a review on Angies list, I posted a very negative review and Al immediately contacted me and insisted he come out and provide us with another estimate. After I asked, he also agreed to reimburse us for the repair job we’d had done on the pipe; that repair had cost ~$300.00. Al then came out to the house. He told us he’d mail us the reimbursement, send us an estimate for a new waterproofing job, and give us references of people for whom the company had honored their warranty in the past. He emailed us the estimate that day and then mailed the check the following week. However, that next week, he said he didn’t want to provide us with a reference unless he was assured that we would go with his firm for the new job, because he didn’t want to bother past clients for a reference, essentially, that wouldn’t lead to another job. Over text, he said that if I was waiting for a reference to change my review on Angie’s List, then I should go ahead and leave up my initial negative review, and that he would then post all of our text exchanges because I was not being fair and honest. At this point I called him and he explained (as I just did) why he didn’t want to provide a reference. I told him I would change my review to reflect all of our communication since early February, and that’s what I’m doing now. Al is very responsive to texts and calls, and he seems very knowledgeable about his craft and plumbing. Indeed, when he came out to our house personally, he was very convincing and I was considering re-hiring him despite the prior frustrations. I am also impressed that he cares enough about his reputation to insist upon coming to our house, offering a solution to the problem, and reimbursing us for the cost we incurred repairing that pipe. However, based on our last exchange, regarding the texts and the lack of a reference unless we went with his company, I decided against rehiring the company. I've decided I'm not hiring any future new work without a very thorough reference review. As I’ve said, the firm is very responsive in terms of communication and seems to know their business; I would just not go with them again personally based on my experience."
