"I could not be more pleased and impressed with the Chapman experience. From the minute Mr. Chapman came out to assess the project till the day the job was complete. Chapman was first rate. Because of the pandemic it took awhile for the windows, etc to arrive from the manufacturer(s) but Chapman kept me in the loop during the wait Once the work was scheduled the crew (Ron and Mike and their associates) showed up on time and were a pleasure to have around. Ron, Mike and their crew were extremely polite, appear to enjoy working with each other, and everyone (regardless of their role) took pride in their work. The job took approximately a week to complete. During that time, the job site was protected throughout the job duration and cleaned up each evening. The demo work they needed to do to support the installation efforts was surgical and precise. The crew installed an interior wood (dutch) door and exterior entry door. Everything came prepped. Chapman matched the existing Baldwin hardware and woodwork for the interior door and provided quality locks and hinges for the exterior door. The window installation far exceeded my expectations as it was not a normal window install. The crew replaced a series of 12 windows that form a window array. They not only matched existing windows I had, but the care the crew took in installing, trimming out and finishing the new windows inside and out was extraordinary. Beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail. The pictures don't do justice to the installation. I could not be more pleased. I would not hesitate to recommend Chapman and I would not hesitate to utilize Chapman's services again."

"Mr. Baker answered the phone the first time I called.  I did not have to leave a message and wait for someone to call me back.  He was very flexible with scheduling the estimate for a time that was convenient for me.  He came out at 8 am on a Saturday morning looked at the issue and immediately provided me with the estimate.  The work was then completed the following Wednesday, which was within four days of giving the estimate.  Did not have to wait a week or two to get the job done. <br /> With the help of an assistant, he took out the door and releveled the opening so that the door would close and lock properly.  This require the removal of some siding from the house as well as a little bit of the interior molding.  After the door was reinstalled, he spent a lot of time adjusting it to make sure the door closed securely.  It is now working better than before I had the issue.  The entire job took about 3 hours. <br />"

"The "cost of service" includes time and all materials/supplies (including the screen doors).  I purchased a townhome in Stowe, PA and needed a bunch of projects done on it.  Found Jason through Angie's List. He contacted me within 24 hours of my contacting him through the Angie's List site, came over to the location right away and gave me a very reasonable price quote for the work to be done, which at that time included replacing a very old screen door in the front and adding a brand new screen door to the back door (it had never had one), replacing/restoring the indoor handrail which had completely popped out of the wall and was a danger, and patching and fixing the kitchen "popcorn" ceiling which was stained and needed work because of a leak from the tub upstairs (we'd fixed the leak but never got to the ceiling).  He quoted me an hourly rate for each of the projects as well as estimates on materials.  He gave the option for either purchasing the screen doors himself, or I could order them at Lowe's or Home Depot and he'd pick them up (this way I could easily choose the door style I wanted). Either way we could take advantage of his contractor's discount.  I chose the latter.  Jason offered exact guidance on what to purchase and explained the differences between various brands and styles, so I knew exactly what I was ordering and felt comfortable and confident when placing the order.  Jason performed all the work himself, on the exact day he promised to do so.  He completed the work in one session and was very efficient.  He is a very neat worker and very polite.  I am already contracting with him to do future projects!  I highly recommend him. <br />"

I WOULD PLACE MY ORDER BY PHONE AND WHEN I PICKED MY ORDER UP, IT WOULD BE CAREFULLY WRAPPED IN BROWN PAPER. EDGES WERE PROTECTED TO PREVENT CHIPPING. I HAVE BEEN VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR SERVICE AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM."

"Michael came out & assessed the job & was very kind, astute & direct about the challenges of this particular job. I received a quote in the next few days & scheduled the work. The crew along with Michael could not have been better! They were efficient yet thorough & made the windows shine. Michael walked through the job at the end & was very responsive to the small items that I found needing additional attention. It was not inexpensive, but worth every penny & I will definitely use this company again."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Lansdale, PA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
