"I was glad with how fast, friendly, easy it went for me to turn it in and get results quickly. They helped with my Angie's discount so it was good to know i got the best price (less than I imagined) to have this done. The possibility of having mold in a house is stressful enough... glad to have this go smoothly."

"We have worked with James twice. He's friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about a variety of engineering concerns. His inspections have been systematic and thorough. On the inspection he did several years ago for us, he identified several items of concern and mechanical systems that were nearing the end of their service life; pretty much everything he predicted would fail soon has, and everything he identified as being totally fine has been in fact totally fine. What more could you ask for?"

"The owner helped us with understanding this new ionizer technology and had to be contacted again about placing them in a better place in the HVAC system to increase ion output into the living space.  The ionizers are a bit pricey for such small units.  They help to kill germs in the home and remove new house construction VOCS, but we were disappointed that they did not remove all of the fumes. One email was not returned, but overall we had a good experience."

"Mr. Holm was very professional and easy to get along with. He conducted a very thorough home inspection of the house and the garage, including checking the driveway, sidewalks, roof, etc. He checked everything in the house from the basement to the attic. He checked to see if everything was operational, if anything was broken, in-operable, leaking, damaged in any way. He checked, electrical, plumbing, appliances, interior and exterior. I met Mr. Holm at the residence at about the end of his inspection. He then took me through, explained some of his findings and showing them to me and explaining possible remedies to correct a situation. Because of his thoroughness, I was immediately aware that some things will need to be changed before I move in. This information offers the possibility of renegotiating terms. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />He also conducted a thorough thermal imaging scan. That scan provided information on the insulation of the house from the basement to the attic. This scan can also detect whether or not there is any damp/wet walls and or insulation. (NOTE: This is the second complete inspection Leroy has conducted for me. He conducted one in 2012 for me. Results of the thermal imaging scan caused me to back out of a purchase contract due to wet walls that were not easily visually detected.) This scan put me at ease knowing that there was plenty of insulation, no noticeable pockets of heat loss, and no dampness in the walls. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />He provided a summary and a detailed inspection report of his findings. His report is easy to follow since areas that need immediate attention are graded in red. The inspection allowed me to determine what I wanted to do next. I could either pull my offer, continue as is, or re-negotiate with the sellers. He provided the detailed report the following morning.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Also, with the information he gathered during the inspection, he provided a general energy analysis. Between the home inspection and the energy analysis, I determined that additional work would be done prior to moving in. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Overall, Mr. Holm was so detailed, that he was able to provide extremely valuable information to me prior to closing on the home. His inspection was so thorough, the sellers were shocked to hear about some of the items since their inspector never found them. This inspection is a small fee to pay for the security in knowing what you're getting into before your purchase. His inspection has made me secure enough to purchase the property. I would definitely recommend him to anyone in the local tri-state area looking to purchase an existing home. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />"

FAQs for toxicity and mold removal projects in Lansing, IA

Remediation should keep mold from returning as long as the moisture source is eliminated. Fix leaks, control humidity, and replace water-damaged materials, then schedule periodic inspections to stay ahead of new growth. With those safeguards, your home can stay mold-free for the long haul while protecting both health and property value.

Most pros recommend leaving the home while they work on mold remediation. Removing mold stirs up airborne spores that can aggravate respiratory issues, and contractors can work more efficiently in an empty space. A short, temporary relocation keeps everyone in your family safe and lets the crew finish the job without interruption.

Mold shouldn’t return once the moisture problem is fixed. Stay vigilant: repair leaks right away, keep humidity below 50 percent with a dehumidifier placed in damp areas, and improve ventilation where needed. Routine checks for leaks and mold and quick repairs go a long way toward keeping your home mold-free.

Mold spores can trigger nasal congestion, throat irritation, coughing, wheezing, eye irritation, or skin rashes. People with asthma, allergies, or weakened immune systems often feel the effects sooner and more intensely. Some molds also release mycotoxins linked to serious respiratory or neurological issues. Swift remediation and better ventilation are the best defenses.
