"Our home well pump stopped working - at a very hot time of summer. We use a lot of waster within the house and have a large lawn irrigation system. I called Dyer Well Drilling prior to 8 a.m. and they sent two technicians out, Kyle and Mason, who came to the house within hours to ascertain the problem, which was that our system was nearly 30 years old and simply needed to be replaced. They were very helpful. Subsequently, a technician by the name of Harley replaced the well pump, motor controls, and interior pressure tank and control box. He was super competent, courteous, and dedicated, staying well into the evening to get the project done. The system is high-tech and very quiet, and our water pressure has increased significantly. I was remarkably impressed with the responsiveness of the team at Dyer Well Drilling. Had they simply waited one additional day, we would have had to get a hotel room and we would have lost a lot of flowers/plants due to our irrigation system being down. Super impressed all around."

"The person performing the service had to make several trips because one of the "new" parts turned out to be faulty. I found both Complete Protection and their local repair contractor to be both very responsive and totally professional at every stage of the repair process."

"We cannot say enough good things about Carpentry Plus. We were extremely pleased with their expertise, professionalism, and work. In addition, Brad and his family are so friendly and personable that we felt like they were old friends. We hired them to put vinyl siding on our 2-story wood house and 2-car garage. As the work proceeded we discovered that there was extensive water damage to the wood in several places on both the house and garage. These included the chimney, the three-season room, and the bottom plate around the perimeter of the garage walls. As a master carpenter Brad Green resolved these issues in a creative and effective way. After replacing all the rotted wood in these areas, he installed flashing around the garage and closed-in three-seasons room to help prevent future damage. The three-seasons room was in such seriously bad shape that it almost needed to be rebuilt. All these issues added a lot of extra work and time to the project. Brad let us know every step of the way what was happening with the job and we were grateful that Brad agreed to take the time to do the extra work--well beyond the original agreement. We have not had any water in the garage since the work was completed and we are so happy to have our three-seasons room repaired. And the siding looks beautiful generating compliments from our neighbors. Really great attention to detail!"

"Jamie told me that I could easily opt for a simple repair of my boiler and save a load of money, but I decided to just replace it instead. His work was flawless, per usual. I can always count on him to be straight with me, and he’s saved me money on plumbing and heating in my home home for over 15 years, now."

"I have trees in the front of my house. 3 years ago I had a company (Rooter MD) come out and use a high pressure water system to cut the roots out. That cost me $800  The day before I had Rooter MD come out to clear the clog. They charged me $198 to "poke" a hole thru the tree roots of the main line and to clear the laundry room line. However, my laundry tub still did not drain. They told me it was the trap and it would have cost additional money to clear that. They also told me I needed to either pay another $900 for the water jet to fully clear out the tree roots in the main line or pay over $7500 to have my main line replaced or upgraded. Foolishly I let them leave without clearing the laundry tub drain. I tried clearing that drain myself but was not sucessful. <br /> I called Chris from Clog-busters late in the day. He first tried to fit me in but had to schedule me for the next day. He sent his guys out the first thing the next day. They used an "expando-blade" rooter to cut out all of my tree-roots and the cleared the laundry tub drain. they showed me a before and after video of my main drain proving the difference. When they arrived my main drain was already backed up. The $198 I spend with RooterMD was already clogged and basically did nothing. <br /> The video of the drain showed that it was in good shape and these guys told me that tree roots are a common problem that can be resolved by having this expando-blade rooting done every other year. They also told me that they could replace my main for under $4000 if I ever decided to do so. <br /> The bottom line is they are an honest and competent provider that I will be happy to recommend to others and will definitely be using again. <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Lansing, MI

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
