"Eric and his brother came by our property to give us an estimate on a paver driveway and we told them that we had six other people coming over for estimates and they said that’s great. Just let us know which way you’d like to go and that was it for the time so then we listened to the other estimates that other companies gave us and I called Eric back and told him to come by so we can discuss it further and I let him know that some other places were cheaper and some other places were more expensive but I just felt more comfortable with Eric and his brother and their knowledge of the projects. We set up a time to do the work which at this time I had added two more sections of the property to have work done and they showed up on the day that they said they would and the people that installed the pavers knew what they were doing and worked or tails off and they did a fantastic job and everything was leveled out perfect and the Yard looks great. I would recommend Rock and Block highly."

"They answered the call out for help with our landscape irrigation system within two minutes of posting the request. They arrived at our house within 30 minutes and IMMEDIATELY went to work! I’ve never seen anyone work harder or faster, getting the job done, with additional requests for removing five dead plants and repairing the broken pipe within 45 minutes. The neighbor even came over and asked for a business card! Absolutely the best team EVER!!!!!! "

"The whole process was seamless. I had multiple quotes for this work and J&J was the most reasonable, direct, honest, and forthcoming. No run around but great explanation regarding the quality of materials for what I wanted done. Work/installation was done professionally, timely, while keeping me constantly advised to insure they were doing exactly what I expected. Thank You J&J Landscape and Jose Valle for a very enjoyable process and quality of workmanship. Definitely will be hiring in the future."

"Removed the landscape plants, installed brick to expand our patio and created a walkway from the backyard to the front. Planted a new tree, moved the irrigation box and rerouted the sprinkler supply for the vegetation that remained in the backyard. Over all I was very pleased with the result of Keny's work."

"Fredy Clavel showed up on time and answered all e-mail questions in a timely manner.  He and his workers were very professional.  They cleaned up the area when they were finished working.  <br /> We paid $400.00 to have the two dead trees removed from our yard, and they did it all in less than a day and still had time to prepare the yard for the rock they were going to put down the following day.  <br /> We paid $1,550.00 for 950 square feet of white rock and 230 square feet of crushed red granite.  The white rock was 3/4" in size and used for ground cover.  The crushed red granite was compacted and used to create a pathway.  Red edging was installed along the sides of the pathway.  Fabric to prevent weed growth was installed underneath everything.  <br /> All the work was completed on Thursday, January 15, and Friday, January 16.  Everything looks wonderful.  <br /> We have a huge yard, and this is just the first part of a larger landscaping project.  We will definitely hire Fredy and his crew to finish our yard when our budget permits.  We couldn't be happier with their work. <br />"

"Our service began with a visit from Schilling's regional supervisor, who evaluated our landscaping and suggested what would be necessary to maintain it properly. As clients who had recently moved from a northern climate to Las Vegas, we were not equipped to care for a desert plant environment. The supervisor was clearly knowledgeable concerning all of the plants on the property, rapidly identifying each and describing the specific care needed. We discussed every variety of plant present. The supervisor took his time, answered all questions, provided plans of action where necessary. He examined the landscape watering system, including the electronic controls, and discussed the Las Vegas regulations concerning seasonal irrigation. We informed him of a leak that had just begun in the system, and he discussed immediate repair, which he described as outside the monthly contract. We scheduled dates each month for a crew to visit. On subsequent visits crews of three arrived promptly and immediately began the work previously discussed. The supervisor, himself, repaired the irrigation leak on the first visit. Although there was no major flaw in the landscaping, minor revisions were made after extensive discussion. Work and clean-up are thorough. We have been extremely satisfied. <br />"

"Raul, Alberto, and their team did a wonderful job renovating my front and backyard. They removed old plants and rock, planted new plants, installed a brick border, cut down two trees, installed a new drip irrigation system, installed landscape lighting, installed new rock, and hauled away all debris. The team showed up on-time each day, were pleasant, worked at a steady pace, and left the worksite very orderly each day. Raul communicated with me frequently and was a pleasure to work with. I received other quotes before beginning the job and found their prices to be most fair and reasonable. I definitely recommend Pueblo Verde Landscape Maintenance and will use their services in the future."

"They gardeners/workers would do a good job 1 week then I would have 3 weeks of sloppy work. all they had to do was mow the lawn and blow for clean up. I did the rest. I picked everything up so there was nothing in the way. My door mats, the outdoor rugs etc. I talk with the owner Jason about them leaving a mess after the third week and he said they would not be back. I told him I think it could be fixed with some direction. I wanted to keep them the workers were very polite. I have to clean up sometimes after they leave. I gave it 3 months and Im tired of babysitting to make sure they do their job. Jason the owner should be the one overseeing that. he was rude to me and just didn't care."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Las Vegas, NV

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
