"Bob and his helper Jessie dug out 54 two-feet-plus post holes and filled them with a minimum of 120 lbs. concrete. The work was done on a rough sloping yard full of stones while Bob and Jessie carried equipment up and down the hill in order to complete the job. They also replaced the pavers where they had been removed before the post holes could be dug out. The whole huge job was done in about three weeks, they worked hard day in and day out with a cheerful, pleasant, and highly professional attitude. Bob handles difficult challenges effectively and without complaints; he adapts quickly to changes in plans and comes up with creative solutions without ever making a fuss. Bob and Jessie were two of the most easy-going fellows I have ever met among the many businesses advertised in Angie's List (another gentleman is Mike Raffo from All Tree Care Service). These past three weeks went by quickly and the result is a beautiful fence perfectly built that brings me privacy, great enjoyment and is admired by all my neighbors. Moreover, Bob replaced a utility gate with a trellis gate and a trellis space separator; I also appreciate the way Bob pays attention to details, like installing gate door stops and privacy slots between gates and fence. "I had some light odds and ends to repair in my condo, and Fred and his guys did an excellent job. This included some wall reinforcement in my bathroom to accommodate some heavy accessories, drywall repair, and paint matching in both the bathroom, kitchen and a bedroom, as well as installing a new front door to accommodate a new smart lock. The work was cleanly done, Fred was punctual and even accommodating of my schedule. "We used Best Rate 5 years ago to replace 50 feet of fence top cap on an old sagging fence that was lacking proper base supports. During the top cap removal they used wood shoring to keep the fence straight and fused 16 footers of kiln-dried redwood using 45 degree angle cuts and long 16" screws to create one very long top cap to straighten our sagging and crooked fence to look brand new. We had selected them because they paint all 6 sides of the replacement wood prior to installation, and we have a terrible time fighting wood rot at our place. Their repair has stood the test of time and still looks great at the 5 year mark, so when it came time to replace some termite infested top cap on the other side of our property, they were at the top of our list to do the job. This time, as a repeat customer, we had saved up 4 full days worth of repairs involving a lot of details, so we were a bit apprehensive as to whether it could all be accomplished, and also worried whether the experience would be different from 5 years ago. What followed was one of the most pleasant experiences we've had to date with any company. The people behind this company understand what the customer wants and they deliver on every point in flawless execution. The process moves smoothly and effortlessly from scheduling the first appointment to the final completion. You can always reach them and they always respond. Service just doesn't get any better than this. They have consistently sent out organized teams of very skilled carpenters who work efficiently, but with attention to details to deliver high quality precision work using intelligent, well thought out solutions. They are very receptive and attentive to your needs and any special requests you may have. They were so neat during the 4 days of work it was hard to tell where they had been. They take care of your things, leaving no damage and there's absolutely no clean-up necessary after them. They take care of everything and they won't miss anything on your list. Instead of feeling the usual stresses, we actually enjoyed having them. We feel they are the best in town for wood construction. They do very high quality lasting repairs. You can certainly spend less with other companies, but end up having to do the repairs more frequently. After 30 years of fighting wood rot, we are glad that there are still companies like this which have not compromised on the quality of the repair. "I do not write many reviews because we use so many providers. However, Bill from C&J Fence really stands out. I did not use this company initially and had lots of other companies look at my gates. But However, most of the companies just wanted to replace all of my gates instead of repairing/altering them. Bill is very reasonably priced and does high quality work. The only drawback is that he is so popular that he is backed up for months. We need new fencing and some fence moved. I will not make the same mistake twice. I am going to wait a couple of months for Bill and his son to do it. Highly recommend!"
