They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. "In August 2013, we hired them to repair soffits, eaves, and yankee gutters. The house is 100 years old, is still all-wood, and we are very particular about having things fixed properly to last another 100 years. It is also 3 stories tall, so some areas were 25' high. They properly repaired broken and missing corners, replacing the wood and then priming and painting the areas. They sealed the yankee gutters (not many people know how to work with this style of internally-built gutter) and made everything look like new. They came when they said they would and worked on the job until it was finished. No starting then gone for two weeks and finishing later like some contractors do. We got what we paid for, and extra (they painted other areas that needed touchup "while they were up there"). They came quickly, gave a quote, and stuck to the quote. We plan on hiring them again this spring to build a new deck on the back of the house. Very very satisfied!"

"We have a steep roof and I had noticed that at least a couple of the plumbing vents projecting through the roof were leaking.  I called Advantage and he was there the next day to inspect and give me an estimate.  The estimate might have been a bit pricey but I did not want to be climbing around that roof and the business owner's responsiveness and courtesy impressed me.  He did the job the next day.   In my experience, this quick responsiveness is unusual for small repair jobs in this town.
By the way, he did not try to talk me into replacing the roof and estimated that I had another 5 years of life left in it.

UPDATE:
One of the vent pipes was still leaking after a recent rain, albeit not nearly as much.  I called Advantage and he showed up the next day.  He did a thorough inspection around the vent and found a crack in the ridge tiles and delamination in of tiles above the vent.  He replaced the flashing, reinstalled the tiles, and sealed the ridge cracks at no extra charge."

"The original repair date was July 30, 2024 8:00-5:00. At 12:04, I received an email that the technician Trever was on his way. When he had still not arrived and I had not heard from him, I tried calling the Sears Home Service number and was unable to speak to a person to ask what may have happened. I then called Choice and was told they have no control over the companies they hire to provide the repair services but would reach out to Sears to schedule another person. I then received an email that the technician commented "customer declined service" with a payment receipt for $300.00. WHAT!! Trever never arrived and we never declined service to a person who wasn't here and didn't call. I waited all day for him!! Then Sears Home Services had the nerve to send an email asking for me to rate the excellence of service. I couldn't believe it. Meanwhile my dishwasher still hasn't been repaired or evaluated. The next morning, Wednesday, July 31, William C from Sears Home Services called and said he would be here between 12:00 and 12:30. He arrived about 12:45 and went right to work trying to figure out the problem with the dishwasher. He determined that the cost of repair would exceed $450 and it would take at least a week for the parts to be delivered . He spoke to Michelle at Choice Home Warranty and she said she would let him know whether it should be repaired or replaced. She did call back a few minutes later to say it would be replaced. Not long after that I did receive an email from Choice with that news and the allowance of $246 instead of a replacement. I went to Lowe's to see what I could purchase to replace my dishwasher. The $246 barely covers the $174 delivery and installation and $50 charge to remove the old dishwasher. I ended up tapping the "accept" option b/c I felt pressured. The salesman at Lowe's said it would be at least two weeks for any new dishwasher to be delivered to the store and then scheduled for delivery and installation. Also, I have to pay up front for the entire costs involved. Your email stated it could take up to 30 days to receive the eCard for Lowe's. In the meantime, I STILL don't have a dishwasher. I would very much appreciate CHW expediting the eCard for Lowe's so I can purchase a new dishwasher."

"The last was a rental company that we have and we used them for an air conditioning and heating system. It was Bototach Mechanical. It’s been a good program for us. They’re very responsive. I don’t know what the thought process was. My husband said, well let’s try these guys and so we did. We have an older home and it’s proved to be a very good deal. The quality has been pretty good, so I would give them an A for the quality. I will give you one helpful hint though. If the company decides they want to replace an appliance, you need to call them and negotiate with them because you can upgrade, but you need to talk to them in person not just do it over the internet."
