"While in the middle of our home remodel, we had to find another carpenter to build some custom cabinetry on both sides of our fireplace. After searching on Home Adviser and Angie’s List, we came across Brainard’s Woodworking For Your Home and looked at his website. After looking at a variety of cabinetry, my husband and I decided to call him. Derek came to our home to listen to our ideas, take some measurements and provide additional information about his trade. It didn’t take long for him to convince us he was the person for our job. We found Derek to be very precise in his measurements and extremely detailed in his work. Additionally, when he commits to do your job, he does so without taking on another assignment so that he is dedicated solely to your job. The quality of his workmanship is exquisite. He is meticulous in his measurements to ensure a perfect fit. The quality of his workmanship is stellar! He made our custom cabinets so that we could have lighting installed at the top, gave us adjustable shelving, added soft-close doors at the bottom and finished off the top and bottom with moulding for a more luxurious look. More importantly, he built our cabinets with real wood which automatically added value. He also built a mantle that floats on the fireplace stone encased in moulding that matches our existing décor. Derek is professional and communicates effectively with other craftsmen who may be working in your home. He is both considerate and conscientious of your time and others so that his work compliments what others are doing in your home. "We recently remodeled a 100 year-old Craftsman home. We initially discussed the project with Mose Troyer and were very impressed with his knowledge and advice. The project required replacing and replicating a considerable amount of the woodwork. Mose also modified the existing Shaker kitchen cabinets. Modifications included building new cabinets to match the existing ones. He also adjusted several cabinets while maintaining the original look of the cabinetry. Mose also completely built an entire wall of pantry cabinets in the Shaker style. He installed new baseboards and window trim. He rebuilt and repaired existing window trim in several other rooms. Mose integrated the repairs to the point that after painting no one could discern that the sill had been repaired. His work was flawless. In addition, he walled off a doorway and built a bookcase with enclosed shelves in the lower half. He installed 10 new doors with hardware in line with the original style of the home. He also installed two barn doors with hardware. He is conscientious and easy to work with. Without his creativity and craftsmanship the project would never have been as successful and we’re thrilled with the results.
