"J&E Masonry completed a stone wall repair as well as a small concrete entrance repair for me, both with outstanding effort in all aspects related. Time to come out after initial contact, view desired work and provide an estimate was remarkable. Start dates were provided and time frames for completion maintained. Work was meticulous and cleanup exceptional. Thank you Edgar and Micheal-recommend without reservation. "

"I had gotten a previous estimate that started out at $3500 and that only covered two sides of the house and no cement work. This person also told me I needed to have 50-60 bricks replaced, plus, they would need to erect scaffolding. When I bulked at the price, he then said he could probably get away with 10 to 20 bricks and reduced the price to $3100. I still was not happy, so he asked me if I was a senior, which I was, and he wanted to know if I had any one in the military. I told him my son was a full-bird colonel so he reduced the price to around $2800 but told me if I signed that day, he would do it for $2500. I ended up signing. This was on a Friday afternoon, but it definitely bothered me very much that I didn't get another estimate, so at 9 o'clock on Monday morning I exercise my right to rescind the sale within three business days. That is when I saw Randy's name and his reviews on Angie's list and decided to call him. He came out two days later and gave me an estimate. I did not mention how much the other company had told me it would cost, but I did tell him that they said I needed bricks replaced and scaffolding. Randy looked over the entire house including the back of the house which the first guy didn't do. He said I had quite a few places with missing mortar on the back and showed me where they were. I then asked him if he would be able to repair the broken cement on the steps. He told he could do that. The front steps were particularly bad. He also said he did not see anywhere where bricks needed to be replaced and no need for scaffolding. The highest spot was about five and half feet off the ground. Imagine my surprise when his quote was $1400 for everything. I could not believe it. After I got that estimate, it rained for two weeks straight. The first day there was no rain, Randy and his helper, James, were on the job. I think they did a tremendous job! The cement repairs look absolutely great and the mortar matches up so well that you can not tell where the repairs are, unless you look very closely. But it doesn't stand out at all. As far Randy's character, I found him to be a deeply religious man, who I don't think would cheat anybody out of a dime. I am so glad that I got another estimate and that I called Randy Inch."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: repair or partially replace projects in Lewisberry, PA

Stone veneer isn’t a weekend DIY. Even lightweight faux panels are heavy and must be anchored, flashed, and sealed to keep water out. Missteps can lead to cracked stone, leaks, or injuries. A licensed siding contractor arrives with scaffolding, masonry tools, and the know-how to set each piece safely and neatly, giving you a long-lasting, professional finish.

Stone veneer durability is robust when expert installation and proper maintenance are employed. When installed with precision, regularly cleaned, and sealed as required, stone veneer maintains its integrity for 25 to 75 years. Inadequate installation, however, leads to water intrusion and structural issues that compromise its longevity. Consistent upkeep and adherence to quality installation standards ensure decades of reliable performance.

Covering the entire exterior of a home with stone veneer is feasible but comes with a significant cost increase. Full coverage escalates both material and labor expenses due to the additional square footage required. Many homeowners reduce costs by applying stone veneer selectively—such as around entries, foundations, or architectural accents—while still achieving an upscale appearance and enhancing overall curb appeal.

Installing stone veneer over brick or stucco is entirely possible when the underlying surface is stable and properly prepared. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of any loose material to support a secure application. Additionally, any areas of flaking stucco or deteriorated mortar must be patched and allowed to cure fully before a professional applies the new veneer, ensuring lasting durability.

Stone veneer siding offers a substantial cost advantage compared to full-thickness natural stone. It costs 25% of the price of natural stone because it is manufactured from concrete and lightweight aggregates. This method delivers the genuine appearance of stone while featuring a thinner profile that simplifies shipping, accelerates installation, and consistently reduces material expenses.

For a 250 square foot exterior area, stone siding installation costs range from $9,800 to $18,000, while installing stone veneer costs between $5,000 and $6,000. This clear cost breakdown demonstrates the significant savings achieved with stone veneer, which uses a lighter construction method that minimizes both material and labor expenses. Homeowners benefit from these lower costs while still attaining the attractive look of natural stone.
