This was not the case. Jim was extremely punctual. In fact, I was late and he graciously waited and greeted me with a warm smile on his cleanly shaven face. He spent almost two hours walking around my house house with me and really taking the time to get to know the house by patiently listening to me --and listening to what his senses were telling him -- about the house. In the end he made heartfelt recommendations that didn't include his services, painted a clear picture, based on what he learned, for what he felt would be the most beneficial way for us to proceed. Maybe he could see the bags under my eyes, but he even left me with a genuine, carefully non-pretentious, message of how being mindful when facing large projects can be a big help as a homeowner -- even sharing a personal story of dealing prospect of some looming major work he was going to have to undertake at his own home soon. He didn't pay a second's attention to his phone the entire visit, and he refused to take a penny for his time. I think he made my whole week and nothing happened."

"The construction went very well. With some discussion, we made sure we were all on the same page about the details of the new walks, which are simple concrete without any special additions or treatments. The crew brought a Bobcat-type skidder with jackhammer and loader attachments, as well as a dump truck. They had the old driveway removed and hauled off in less than an hour. Then they worked with us in laying out the shapes, elevations, and slopes of the new walkways and had the forms all set in another couple of hours, doing it by eye and following the slopes and heights of the yard. The concrete was poured in another hour or so and the entire job was finished by the end of the day. They removed the forms a couple days later. Their price was among the lowest we were quoted. The finished walks look very nice and are a pleasure to use. I gave them a B in Professionalism because the quote was lacking in any detail and they haven't yet provided an invoice, even though I've called once to remind them. For a small, simple job like this one, that might be OK, but for a large or complex one I'd want a clearer documentation and better accounting."
