"Jorge has been my contractor for everything for years! I grew up in a construction owning family but my is dad is retired and by happy accident I found Jorge & now he does all my interior construction & remodeling. He’s done so many projects for me - they are too many to list! I’m a 43 year old single mother who owns 2 businesses and Jorge and his guys are amazing! He’s my right hand man truly. I own Studio 39 Salons and he has done ALL the work in both locations. You can google the business to see the beauty of the salons! From simply installing shelves in my house to literally building my second salon location from ground up- Jorge has helped me beyond words! I trust him so much I gave him keys to both locations so he can work or take care of things as needed. I highly recommend him. He is very reasonable in cost. You tell him what you want, and he can build it if it’s possible. The best thing is he’s not just a contractor, he’s a valued friend I depend on and he always makes time for my projects no matter how busy he is!"

"Randy did an amazing job getting our new water heater installed! He did it quickly and professionally. Then when we had an issue with water in our basement the next day, he came right out, confirmed it had nothing to do with the new water heater, then tracked down what the true issue was (which 2 other plumbers missed) and snaked out the pipe in our basement. Again he was quick and professional, but once he was done, he took the time to talk to us about options for fixing our p-trap in the basement floor. I will definitely use Randy in the future, and recommend him without hesitation."

"The plumber (Joe Salva) was friendly, professional, and did an excellent job. He evaluated the problems and either fixed them himself (e.g. installed water pressure regulator) or, to save me money, explained in detail some simple DIY fixes (e.g. caulking). He answered my questions thoroughly and did a good job of communicating the problems he'd found and their causes, as well as what needed to be done and why. He was very knowledgeable, and I appreciated the time he spent educating me on a range of plumbing topics. Top-notch service and experience overall. He even brought in my trash/recycling bins from the curb and offered to carry a large package delivery inside, without me asking."

"They did great work. Everything works well. I really liked how conscientious they were in checking to make sure all the drains worked properly. I appreciate that their superior skill level means I have two well-installed wall-hung toilets. Everyone who worked on the project was nice and easy to work with. I was impressed with how polite everyone was."

"So pleased with Mike and his crew! We were shocked to find out that our pipes needed replacing-showed up on inspection as we were trying to sell. Needed to get fixed quick and get back on the market. Mike's bid was almost too good to be true compared to 2 others and he was able to get in in a timely manner. The guys made sure the water was reconnected every evening. They cleaned up well and even vacuumed! Highly recommend Golden's Plumbing!"

"Joel and Mike did the rough-in work as agreed at a fair price and within the agreed time frame. As agreed as part of the contract, they will return to install all of the remaining fixtures. I will update the evaluation when the job is complete. So far I am very pleased with their ability to reconfigure plumbing with minimal peripheral damage. I highly recommend Spirit Plumbing for any renovations."

"they were very nice, but as he estimated the job price ... I all of the sudden got two prices, Angie's list price and some plumbing club price. Very confusing. They fixed the toilet quickly but I saw they replaced the water line Connector piece which was not leaking and not the problem and it was expensive. decided not to have the leaky sinks replaced, quoted price too expensive."

"The installation was great, high quality materials. Their service has been exemplary. Seven years later they replaced the sweep on the bottom of the door at no cost. We're very pleased."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Lexington, MO

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
