Customers say: Quick response

"Isaacs is a true professional who obviously loves and takes pride in his work. He first provided a free estimate, coordinated a installation date with us, and arrived on said date on time and ready to go to work. When I suggested a different river rock than planned and an alternative supplier he had never worked with, Isaacs was very open to the suggestion and went to that source to ensure we were satisfied with the end result. He also suggested the material for the retaining wall which turned out beautiful. We plan on using Delgado Landscaping in the future and would recommend his company to anyone needing such work."

"Billy and his team do amazing work! From the very beginning when we built our house, Billy has welcomed all questions (even having a meeting with us at his house), been a subject-matter expert, and has guided us to select the most amazing landscaping I have ever seen. His team works hard, in all weather, and are all extremely friendly. I have, and will continue, to absolutely recommend Billy and his team to anyone looking for any landscaping, no matter how big or small of a project!"

"They were very prompt and were very detailed about the project and all the specifics. They had a very well mannered crew they showed up redone my entire parking lot and it looks absolutely beautiful. The drainage is on point. It looks as if they were never there. they’re cleanup. Crew was amazing and the great thing is they had a lot of other work going on and they squeezed my 15,000 square-foot job in like it was nothing and took really good care of me. I would highly recommend them any day of the week."

"Selvin proposed running drain tile down the hill in order to stem the erosion . His company also filled in the eroded areas and laid sod in the repaired areas. They were punctual and I was thrilled that they were able to get right to the repair"

"I purchased a big deal at $49 for a landscape consultation with Prestige One.  I made an appointment with them for June 12, 2015.  Mr. Roye Dillon came on time.  He talked with me about what I wanted for a landscape.  He also looked at my two trees in my front and back yards.  I told him that I wanted to redo my front flower garden in front of my house, and that I wanted to keep the two tea rose bushes and a peony bush but the floribunda rose, which was sprawling out of bounds, could go and the day lilies could go.  I said that I needed a real edging for the flower garden because the black plastic edging that had been there for years was not working.  Grass had spread from the yard to the flower garden and was growing better there than in my yard.  Mr. Dillon showed me different edgings that I could use and sketched out a plan for the front flower garden, keeping the tea roses, peony bush, and day lilies, removing the floribunda, and adding some more bushes and day lilies.  I asked how much it would be for his company to put all that in.  We agreed on a price. <br />"

"I found Lawnboys when I was looking for someone to cut my mother's lawn after she passed away last fall.  The lawn service she was using had stopped cutting grass for the season but her lawn needed mowing to keep it looking nice while it was on the market.  When I called Chris I explained the situation and he was more than willing to help and was able to cut her yard a day or two later.  His crew did a wonderful job.   <br /> I called Chris again this spring to see if he would be interested in cutting my own yard for a few weeks while my mower was in for repairs.  Again he worked me in within a couple days and did a terrific job at a good price.  He mowed the grass, trimmed, edged and blew off the sidewalks and driveways.  I can tell he pays attention to detail and takes pride in his job and would recommend him without hesitation. <br />"

"Exceptional experience: stayed on budget, made adjustments as requested, and they truly cared how we felt throughout the entire process. This was huge project that began in early June and just wrapped up mid July due to the unpredictable weather challenges."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Kansas City, MO

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
