"Dan came out and spent a great deal of time talking with us about what we wanted to have in our back yard. His crew came back on time, were professional and efficient. They were careful and respectful of our home and property. They did a marvelous job and the water feature is perfect ! <br />"

"It was an excellent experience. From my first contact with Andy to set up a quote, everything happened quickly and professionally. He came out, was very easy to talk to, took measurements, and I had a quote in just a few days. Once I decided to use Clark's based on my comfort level and the price, they were out and working about a week later. The crew that came out was fast, efficient, and very courteous. I asked for a few minor adjustments along the way -- nothing was wrong, more of a "hey, now that I'm thinking about it..." kind of thing -- and they were happy to make the changes. They were done quickly and the finished work looks great. I'm thrilled with how everything turned out. <br />"

"We?ve now been through two rain showers and our initial <br /> impressions of Sure Seal have been confirmed: these guys did a great job on our <br /> roof! It was time for our 24 year-old roof and gutters to go ? to be taken off <br /> and replaced. Sure Seal did this, miraculously, in one working day! And, mind <br /> you, our house is not small. This was a sizable job. <br />  Working with these guys was a pleasure throughout. We met <br /> with 4 local contractors for bids and became less than impressed with the <br /> customer service (bids, promises, follow-up) from the other three. Sure Seal, <br /> on the other hand, met with us, followed up with answers to our questions, then <br /> scheduled the new roof in a timely and professional way. They delivered on everything <br /> that they said they would. <br />  What was perhaps most impressive was the work crew <br /> themselves. They arrived at the crack of dawn and stayed until dusk. We <br /> estimated that they only stopped for a 20-minute lunch. They worked hard, did a <br /> great job and didn?t leave a mess, which was in stark comparison to another <br /> contractor?s work in our immediate neighborhood. Also, in comparison with the <br /> other roofer?s work on our neighbors? roofs, Sure Seal?s price was very <br /> competitive.  <br /> <br />"

"The sprinkler system was installed and functions correctly.  However, during the installation process there were white plastic pvc pipes placed 18-24" above the ground directly in front of our picture window and house.  They were placed without asking and made the front of our house look terrible.  We did say something before our HOA stepped in and it was corrected and moved to the side of the house out of street sight.  Our quote also included the removal of a small bush and some surrounding stumps/roots.  It was not completed with the initial work and it took several reminders before they completed the work the following spring, when they de-winterized our sprinklers.  Our sod area was small but it took several requests to level the area before the sod, which was what we had been quoted.  Overall, we eventually got everything done but will not be using this company in the future, including the twice yearly maintenance of the sprinkler system. <br />"

"He is top notched and very good. He did a very good job on that. The roof was very well sealed. It was top of the line with a 50-year warranty on it, which is transferrable. You get a better warranty by using one of their people whose been trained. I did a 5 or 6 months of investigation in the internet before I choose him so I would know people coming in and out of the house. I chose him. He seems to be the best in the area. I'd use him again in a flash. I got a discount because of my age. I also like him because he had some woodwork replacement done. He has carpentry ability and roofing ability. He is man of his word. It took a little time to do it because of the weather but it wasn't a big deal. I like the quality of the work and the security on it. I got a lot of it. His bid was a level of quality, his expertise and service is same as once I thought as fly by night type. He is the only one I've used in town. I'd give him really good marks. He has really good employees."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Linton, IN

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
