The repair option was less expensive, though not guaranteed to resolve the issue - as a few different things could be the root cause and it may need replaced entirely. I chose to repair it, and thankfully it resolved the issue at very little cost. Grateful to KC Metro Plumbing for following up with us on our inquiry so quickly, and coming out the next day (before freezing temp's outside were forecasted to arrive just 2 days later). "The sink had very thick and longtime build-up that was mostly clogging a big section of pipe and not able to be opened with a "snake". Several feet of pipe had to be removed and replaced. Once the occluded piece was removed, Kyle showed me the ends of the pipe after it was removed and why just trying to shift the caked in debris wouldn't work in this case. I appreciated him showing me (including some photos, as I have a crawl space) along with explaining so I had a better understanding. He was considerate in explanations of the work, wearing a mask, punctuality and in cleaning up after."

"I requested replacing a full drain pipe system. When they came, they only fixed the one part that was leaking, not the whole drain. They told me it would cost significantly more to replace the full drain, even though when they came out to bid it, I was very explicit on wanting it all replaced. The leak is fixed, but they also used a white pipe while the rest of the piping was black. They even told me they saw reviews the picture before coming, and still brought and use white piping. So now it is very mismatched."
