"VERY impressed with the work and overall professionalism of Coast to Coast. From the proposal/quote stage all the way through payment, everything was fully communicated, executed quickly, and delivered with the utmost attention to detail —probably 2-3 weeks from first contact to finished work. They fixed the tuck pointing on our very old, crumbling limestone foundation and installed 3 glass brick windows. Even rough areas I would've expected them to miss because I hadn't explicitly pointed them out were touched up. Would definitely use again in the future. THANKS"

"We highly recommend Jan and Peter at GMR for any masonry work. They were not the low bidder however when Peter came out to do the estimate, it was clear they were more detailed in their explanation and his pride in his work was obvious. Their work was exceptional, they did a thorough job, and left the property cleaner than when they arrived!"

"One word can describe Roger, his crew, and their work -AWESOME!!!   From start to finish Roger and his team where very <br /> accommodating even when hiccups occurred.   After the deck was torn off, we discovered there was a lot of wood rot that would need to be repaired before the steps were completed.  Roger and his team completed as much of the patio and steps as they could, then once the wood was repaired six days laterby a handyman they came back to finish the job and put flashing to make sure it wouldn?t happen again.  Roger and his team are extremely conscious about the work being done as well as making sure the customer is happy.  An hour after they finished (and most of the next week) there was a lot of heavy rain and some of the locking sand did not completely dry and was washed away between the pavers on the steps.  I called Roger and asked for some sand to put into the gaps on the steps, they came out and reapplied a new layer on top of the whole patio as well as filled in all the gaps on the steps.  The sand is now dry, locked and looks great.  Everyone was very nice and very hard working, at the end of each day everything was cleaned up and hauled away.  They went above and beyond what was in the contract - installing a underground drain pipe leading about 30 feet away from downspout that was draining under the deck, Installing new sod and mulch around the patio...even providing mulch to cover existing beds to hide the dust created from cutting the pavers.   Very happy with the results, they went above and beyond for the price we paid.  Will definitely have roger and his crew out to do some other projects this fall or next spring <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I would definitely recommend Hooks! Very professional and responsive. Actually listened to our wish list and offered insights as to what would work and why or why not. The crew was on time and professional. Often times, I could hear them singing and laughing while they worked. That told me that they enjoyed what they were doing. They did an amazing job and look forward to working with them in the future."

"We contacted Peckhart Landscapers about two weeks ago after searching for a landscaper on a local neighborhood app. Seeing that they were overwhelmingly recommended on that app and on Angie's list, we called them, and they arrived fewer than 48 hours later to assess our needs and draw up an estimate. We gave very vague parameters of wanting a curvy, clay paver patio and an integrated shade garden under a large, nearby maple tree. Again, fewer than 48 hours later, we were emailed a digital image of our actual house with a lifelike view of their plan. We loved it and were given a drawing and price quote within 24 hours. We asked, if we chose to go with them, how long it would take to begin the project and were told that if the weather held out, it could begin by the end of the month. They arrived on March 19, and the entire project was completed by March 23. It's crazy to think that something we dreamed of doing for many years could be completed in such a short period of time. We were thrilled by Peckhart Landscaping's professionalism, promptness and speed, as well as by the extremely fair price we were charged for their services. We would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them!"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Lisle, IL

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
