We are home service and repair experts. Unlike many service companies who try to perform all types of work, including new construction, commercial construction, and industrial jobs, we focus on existing residential homes day in and day out. Since 1975, OnTime Service has been delivering high-quality, professional services to Daphne, AL, and surrounding areas. In 2014, we began a heating and cooling division. In November 2016, we starting offering plumbing services to our customers. We are very picky about the heating and cooling technicians, electricians and plumbers we hire. We conduct extensive background checks on prospective employees and we perform random drug tests. We insist that our employees are professional, neat and clean, that they have no visible tattoos or piercings and that they are non smokers. If an OnTime Service employee ever smokes, swears or leaves a mess in your home, our service will be free.

"This job was an emergency job and was a panel replacement. Steve called me immediately after the post and was working on it with in 48 hours of the post. This project involved calling EMC, a permit and inspection. He was under the gun and pulled it off. I was not around the house during this time so you can trust him around outside and inside your house. I will be using him for all electrical needs. Thanks Steve."

"Blake and his crew showed up on time each day, explained the work to be done and kept up updated on the process. Along the way we added to the project and they easily incorporated it into the overall project. The crew cleaned up each day so our evening household activities were disrupted as little as possible. Afterwards, Blake walked me through the work done and only had to return for a small issue that was corrected quickly. I would not hesitate to use or recommend Powerworx for any residential electrical work."

"Boykin representative, Mr. Billy came and gave a fair quote which was agreed upon to install two ceiling fans for the great room that has cathedral ceilings. He went right to work and was done in a timely manner. He made sure everything was working correctly before leaving. Mr. Billy was very knowledgeable and friendly. FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Little-River, AL

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
