"Last week (on 9/11/2013), I had the provider out to do some routine <br /> maintenance on my sewer line, as I have a large Maple tree in my front <br /> yard.  They arrived the next day, were courteous and removed quite a few <br /> tree roots from my sewer line.  Yesterday I woke up to some sewage in <br /> my basement and immediately called them back.  Due to all of the floods <br /> here in Colorado, they are super busy now, but came back first thing <br /> this morning, fixed the problem, CLEANED up the area (which i was <br /> dreading, though it wasn't a large area, maybe 2-3 around the drain in <br /> the floor, AND, didn't charge me as Kevin said it was covered under the <br /> warrantly from last week's work. <br />"

"Thomas arrived about 45 minutes later, about 10:30 pm and began diagnosing the problem. I live outside city limits and I'm on a septic system. Not only was everything backed up on the main floor, there was a leak in the basement where the plumbing went from the house into the septic system. After looking at the problem, he explained that there would be an after-hours fee and told me what he thought was likely wrong. He got to work and was able to clear out the blockage and clean up all of the areas where there had been water. Thomas was the ultimate professional and I would recommend him and Roto-Rooter to anyone. They are simply the best!!"

"Danny showed up on time and started working on rebuilding my shower faucet as we both thought gould be done. I have a 100 year old house so things do not always go as planned. The old faucet broke and could not be rebuilt. So Danny got in his truck and ran to the hardware in town, bought a new faucet, and installed it. All in less than 2 hours at a very reasonable price. Danny is my new plummer."

"Terrill was amazing. He assessed the situation accurately the first time and filled in some low areas with different clay soil and patched some small cracks in the foundation. I was dubious at first however after several significant rains and flash flooding in Castle Rock, the floor and wall are still dry with no sign of leaks. He also installed a drain pipe attached to the downspout for better drainage off the roof. I held off re-carpeting the basement area just to make certain that water did not reappear. Terrill knows what he is doing."

"Kyle called said he was on he way ahead of schedule which I appreciated since I had called several other companies and none of them could get to my repair the same day. He arrived very professional, answered all of my questions, very friendly. He inspected the damaged line and also all the other copper lines in the crawlspace and advised me what I could do to prevent it from happening again. He installed shutoff valves for not only the damaged line but also another line that could possible give me problems in the future. It took about an hour and a half. I appreciated the quick response and same day service, I would use this company again."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Livermore, CO

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
