"Company and Technician were professional, experienced and thorough. They sent me real time video of questionable areas on my cell phone so I can see what they see and assess the situation. Would definitely hire them again if needed. I would also highly recommend this company to anyone with a pest control problem."

"Professional and experienced contractor took the time to talk to my wife and son about our concerns. He gave a dozen glue traps to my son to check for and monitor the insect problem we experienced. All signs of the bugs are gone as he said. His costs were reasonable for the time he spent treating our home. We highly recommend him."

"I thought I had small animals running in the attic. The first day Enrique came he could not find any openings but he said he would come back to take a look on the roof. What he found was large piles of acorns that were rolling on the roof during the windy weather - no animals!! Great job!!!"

"They came today and were here for 10 minutes. I assume that they did the job I hired them to do, but since I did not get on a ladder to check my gutters, I don't know what kind of job they did on a 2500 square foot house in 10 minutes. They cleaned up and took a small amount of trash with them. I don't know how to give this service a rating."

"I noticed there were several wasps flying in and out of my roof eave. I contacted Arkadia Pest Control because they have an A rating and over 100 review on Angie’s List. I requested to have the wasps in my attic exterminated. A technical arrived the following day. The technician explained his plan of attack in detail. He answered all of my questions and addressed all of my safety concerns. He was able to quickly locate the nest in the attic. Not only did the technician kill the wasps he removed the entire nest from the attic to dispose of it. At my request, the technician filled the void in the attic with gap filler at no extra change! Arkadia pest control fee includes a 3 month warranty which is generous. If I encounter any pest in the future I will contact Arcadia again."

"George Massoud of NJ Pest Defense did an EXCELLENT JOB. He was very informative, punctual, and knowledgeable in his field. From the phone call to the actual appointment he gets an A PLUS!! He explained in detail what he saw,.. looked in all areas inside and outside my home and suggested exactly what I needed. He explained everything he was doing to rid my home of the animals and also explained the bait traps and items bait used assured me they were SAFE and EFFECTIVE. George was VERY honest in his price as well. In this day and age it is hard to find an HONEST, FAIR, dependable and knowledgeable person in this field. I will DEFINATELY use NJ Pest Defense and highly recommend them as well."

"The tech, Anthony Hill went above and behind to take care of our issues with raccoons. He is extremely knowledgeable, hard working and a true asset to the company. Jennifer set up an initial appointment within a day, understanding our concerns and was very understanding on getting someone out ASAP. I would highly recommend Jersey Pest and Animal Control, LLC."

"In October 2015 we had seen chipmunks in our garage and some mouse droppings in closets and kitchen, and we heard some loud noises in the wall connecting to our garage. We assumed they were chipmunks but also had found some mouse droppings so knew they were around also but didn't know where they were getting in.
They came out a few days after I called. The guy was on time and very friendly.  He checked many areas I would not have thought to check looking for clues as to how they'd gotten into the garage. Turns out there was a hole in the retaining wall of my driveway that was allowing the chipmunks access to the garage. He installed a one-way opening so they could get out but could not get back in, and set 3 traps (have-a-heart traps).
He told me to release any chipmunks I caught in the woods at least a mile away and showed me how to open and set the traps. I did not catch any chipmunks in the traps, but after about 2 weeks stopped hearing noises in the walls. I think the one-way exit worked.
My only complaints are that 1)  I had to call them to come back to pick up the traps. I would think the traps are expensive (maybe that's why it cost me $350?) but the guy did say they would come to pick them up in a month or so.  They are scheduled to come out next week to get the traps. And 2) the Big Deal ($149) I purchased didn't cover all the rodent exclusion stuff they did. I realize they did more than just set mouse bait, and the problem was resolved ultimately, but it was quite expensive in my opinion.

FAQs for small animal pest control service projects in Livingston, NJ

Self-removal attempts using store-bought traps can cost $50, but require personal time investment and knowledge of proper handling techniques. While DIY methods might work for isolated cases, professionals bring expertise in identifying all entry points, implementing effective deterrents, and safely handling wildlife.

Consider your comfort level with wildlife management and the potential health risks—armadillos can carry disease—before deciding between professional services or personal intervention.

Most homeowners see initial results within two to five days after professional trap placement, particularly with single-animal situations. However, multiple factors can extend this timeline, including the number of animals present, weather conditions affecting activity patterns, and the complexity of your property layout.

Properties with established armadillo populations might require one to two weeks of active trapping. Discuss realistic timeframes with your wildlife specialist during the initial consultation to set appropriate expectations.

Filling and repairing burrows adds $75 to $110 per hole to your total project cost. While some comprehensive service packages include minor repairs, extensive landscape restoration requires a separate payment.

These repair costs cover materials like topsoil, sod, or concrete patching compounds, plus the labor to properly restore the damaged areas. Before finalizing any service agreement, clarify exactly which repair services are included and which will incur additional charges.

While armadillos remain active throughout the year in many regions, scheduling removal during less busy seasons for wildlife control companies might secure slightly better rates. Fall and winter months often see reduced demand for these services, potentially offering more scheduling flexibility and competitive pricing.

However, the most cost-effective approach is addressing armadillo issues promptly when first noticed, regardless of season, as delaying can lead to more extensive damage and higher ultimate costs.
