"I hired Marvin for a client that was currently out of the country - Marvin evaluated the situation and he and his team came in and took care of everything - it doesn’t even look like the same yard - in fact we couldn’t see the yard for all the bamboo and trees - they did an excellent job - not only on the yard but the front walk was repaired where a tree had been uprooted and caused a deep hole - also the driveway was covered in dirt and debris - he cleared that - and he did it all in such a timely manner! "Our house is low and I was concerned about the increasing issues with water we were experiencing. Curt was very calm on the phone, explained what was going on and arranged a date for his team to come out to take a look. Mario came out, was very calm and thorough. He gave us some clear and simple steps to take in our yard which has stopped water pooling in the low points, and set a date for the water proofing work in the crawlspace. Curt gave us a reminder call a few days prior to the project starting. Jonathan and team came out on time and they worked incredibly hard over the next two days in a tight space. They were friendly and so pleasant. The day after they finished up, we had a heavy rainfall and the crawlspace stayed dry! Best of all, the space has already lost that musty odor! "These guys are spectacular! I called Friday and Luis was here Monday to give an estimate on different options. He was extremely friendly and professional. We scheduled the service for that Thursday. I ended up changing my mind three times on whether to encapsulate or not. ( had to talk to my pest service/ hvac first) I called and asked if we could hold off until I got more information from the other providers. They were very accommodating during my moments of indecisiveness and didn't judge me for that. They came out the following week on Thursday expecting two full days of work. They finished Thursday night. Mr. Alirio is the owner and was here working hard with his crew. He even came out to the front yard when I was blowing leaves and grabbed his backpack blower and blew all my leaves in the front yard! These are hardworking, big hearted people! I was so impressed that I asked for an estimate of other services before they left and will definitely be using Mr. Alirio again."

"Hardscapes by the yard, referred by a friend, performed the services superbly. First, the owner, Mr Philip Byard, provided a thoughtful and insightful consultation about ways to improve the look of our backyard. He suggested a price-friendly way to replace the unsightly concrete cinder blocks that formed the wall with landscaping bricks, regional plants that conformed to the climate and sunlight of our backyard, and a new way of placing paving stones for paths. Finally, he provided a sketch of how earth could be "sculpted" to make the contours and topology of the backyard more attractive. Overall, I was very impressed with the care and creativity that Mr Byard put into our job. Then, with this plan and a reasonable price, he initiated the work a week later. It was completed within 5 days and involved the labor of 2-3 men. We were not at home most of the time, but overall, their presence was unobtrusive and they were unfailingly polite. As specified, they replaced the retaining wall, laid down new paving stones to improve the access to the backyard, and put in ~ 20 new plants. The yard has yet to "grow in" since it is autumn, but I anticipate it will look fabulous. Overall, we were very pleased with the work of Hardscapes by the Yard, and anticipate using them for routine yard maintenance in the future. In fact, they are removing leaves from our front yard now as I write this, and charge a very reasonable fee for this service. We like Mr Byard very much -- he is a polite and friendly gentleman -- and appreciate the care he has brought to our home. I recommend his business highly."

He emailed an estimate for the work and after we accepted his offer, he got to work. It has been a year since the job was done and our backyard looks like a park.
