"The problem was the toilet. They hydro Jett the main sewer line , using a camera to demonstrate where roots were. Afterwards , the toilet flushing was still as slow as it ever was. Better support would have been to suggest YouTube video titled unbelievable Trick to Make Your Toilet Flush Like Never Before! On jayâ s How To Channel which showed how to remove calcium & lime deposits Fromm the jets of my toilet using extra strength vinegar poured many times down the overflow spout Iâ m the tank. They didnâ t even bother to check out the toilet until AFTER the sewer line Hydro-jet."

"TWO entire properties, completely remediated for decrepit cast-iron sewer pipes, under concrete slabs... from 1960s construction in L.A. County. The most thorough examination, in advance of proposal preparation, I've ever seen. Skilled plumbers and diggers, in sufficient numbers to get the job done quickly. Spectacular dust control, to void the need for visqueen of occupants' possessions; they built a "casita" of PVC pipe and heavy plastic tarps and tape. Reasonable and easy to work with. So conscientious... tenant had use of sewer pipes overnight on a big job that took over a week to complete. Completed work passed rigorous leak tests. ALL the iron below floor level is GONE and I'll never have to worry about this again."

"Excellent service. Kevin came and assessed the problem. He provided me with a quote that seemed very pricey at that moment in time in comparison to other quote I got earlier from another plumbing company, who gave a quote without opening it up. After seeing the amount of work it took almost the whole day, the price seemed reasonable. Apparently they didn’t make the part anymore, and the replacement part didn’t fit perfectly well, but he got it to work at the end of the day. But there was no hot water the following day when we took a shower so he returned and spent another half day to get it to work. I really appreciate that he came by immediately to rectify the problem and complete the job. "

"The team of this company which included Samuel, Agapito and Sergio did a wonderful job. The job was really hard. It included removing an old water heater from a small cabinet under the stairs and placing a new heater which was taller. I am very grateful for their job."

Small jobs welcome

"Jacob Grieve is the working owner of Clubâ s Plumbing. He is upfront, honest, polite, knowledgeable and on time. AND FAIR. I found him totally by accident via an internet search through this site after being thoroughly frustrated by my Home Warranty Insuranceâ s referred plumber. I discussed the situation with Jacob over the phone as it was complicated and shared my neighbors assessment. Jacob quoted price ranges to me over the phone - one for the easier fix and one for the more complicated possibility. He immediately saw the problem which matched my neighborâ s opinion and was able to do the repair on the spot. He charged me the lower range of his quote which was so honorable as I would not have questioned him at all. Without a doubt Jacob - Clubâ s Plumbing - is the best plumber Iâ ve ever had service my home. I have already recommended him. And I recommend him to all those reading this review."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Los Angeles, CA

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
