"I'm very happy with my insulation install. I got my quote (which was very reasonable) and everything was installed 2 days later. The gentlemen who came out were very polite and neat while working. I would definitely recommend this company."

"We chose Attic Pro after getting a few quotes. Their representative, Ryan, was incredibly thorough. He performed a energy audit for us. The consultation was professional and informative, with clear explanations of the process and expected values. We are pleased with the work that was done by them. If you are dealing with a drafty house or high energy bills, a professional insulation upgrade is a game-changer. I highly recommend Attic Pro. Thanks again Ryan! Cesar C."

"George came out promptly and did a thorough inspection of the crawlspace and provided options on what can be done. The insulation work was performed by Jesus who also found and fixed two foundation cracks. Encapsulation was done by Juan's team and they all did a great job. They were able to perform all the work with a very narrow opening into the crawlspace and were also able to fit in the dehumidifier. After installation there was a minor issue with the dehumidifier and Craig came right away to fix it. Great experience and I'd definitely use their services in the future if need be."

"Fast work. Great communication up until trying to communicate with project manager. Was told everything would be completed within two days. The roof was done in one which was awesome, but I am still waiting on gutters a week later and won't be given a day/time for them. Just keep being told "early next week" or "tomorrow". Sales portion and inspection went great. Fantastic everything up until the install."

"Concerned about loosing heat through the roof of a split level ranch single family home. After interviewing many contractors for the job. David appeared to be the most knowledgable. He explained what products and services he offered. I agreed an a product. Dap and Sons were on time and were very professional. They completed the job in a short amount of time and cleaned up afterwards. Entire house is cozier. Thermostat remains at 70*F no matter the weather outside. R50 rated insulation. I recommend if you need to have your home or business insulated call Dap & Son Insulation and Sound proofing."

"Greg, the owner, came out on two occasions to discuss the crawl space and drain tile. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in the crawl space industry. We had a few options and he told me about the new spray product he was using. It is this unique seamless liner that is sprayed on after preparing and insulating the area.
His crew was very professional and easy to talk to. We had some scheduling conflicts that were easy to work around and get the job done when we needed it to be finished.
The difference we noticed in the smell in our basement, the effect the insulation and seamless lining had on the air conditioning in our family room (which is above the crawl space) was immediate. We feel cooler air coming through the duct work since it isn't losing energy traveling through a non insulated space anymore and they basement smells and feels normal since the dirt and concrete is now completely covered by the new liner.
That new product is great.
Greg's company also did drain tile work in our basement. It was a different crew than the group who did the crawl space, but they were equally as professional and easy to work with. Rather than break up the job into 3-4 days they stayed late the first day to get everything ready and prepared so they could complete the job quicker. The job was done the next day. The price was very fair and the crew was extremely clean throughout thew whole process.
We now have a water tight, well insulated basement and we couldn't be happier with the results.
I have told several friends about the experience and would recommend them anytime. From Greg down to each of his crew members they really know how to do a good job and work with the customer."

"Four day affair to do the blown in insulation.  Interesting technique -- wherever they could, they used exterior walls instead of interior walls to drill 3 inch hole, pump in some of their expanding insulation foam material and then plug up the hole.  Most of the house was done from the outside, but some of the walls (based on rather strange architecture my house has) were done from the inside.  For most of the places on the outside where a cedar shake was remove, foam pumped in and then the shake replace, i had to do no touch up.  Some needed a bit of paint.
interior walls needed some more work than the exterior of the house -- sanding, another coat of drywall mud, more sanding then  painting.
Ended up with some dirty hand marks on the inside of my house and some debris on the floor.  Not really a problem -- tarps were thrown down to protect just about everywhere.

"Prior to choosing ABS, I received several quotes and made my final decision based ABS being family owned and operated. When I received my quote from Aaron, he inspected my crawl space and outside my home. He took several reading of the moisture throughout the wood. Aaron spent several hours going over all the issues he found. Time was not an issue for Aaron, as he explained the situation to us, he answered all our questions (sometimes twice) and was very polite. Now onto the days of installation, day one, Joe their lead engineer and crew arrived onsite. Joe was polite and knowledge of the job he was there to perform. He stayed in constant contact with me. Walked me through the process they were doing each day. They spent 5 days due to the size of the job. On day 4 is where they had issues, some larger jobs tends to have unexpected complications. The complications are where you will know if you hired a good company or not. As I stated Joe’s continuous communication with me helped me understand their issues and the company’s solutions. They had to call in more support and because this is a family owned company even the owner showed up. They took the time to explain to me what was happening and what they did to fix the issues. They did not charge me the additional material or time. They went above and beyond what most companies would have done. Now I have a solid and dry crawl space and that is all thanks to American Basement Solutions. I had a positive experience and would recommend this company to anyone. **Side note, Joe you where AWESOME! Thank you and Thank you to American Basement Solutions."

FAQs for batt, rolled or reflective insulation install or upgrade projects in Lowell, IN

Batt insulation excels in vertical installations because it remains firmly in place and delivers consistent thermal performance. Blown-in insulation performs exceptionally in spaces such as attics, efficiently filling gaps in irregular areas.

Employing both insulation types according to their strengths enhances your home’s overall energy efficiency and comfort by providing a tailored solution for every space.

Start by measuring the square footage of the space, then match that area with the insulation thickness you need to hit your target R-value. Add a buffer for waste and odd-shaped spots so every cavity is covered.

Once you have a rough count, run it past a local insulation pro—their on-site advice will fine-tune the numbers and help you avoid costly miscalculations.

Old insulation that is dry, intact, and mold-free does not require removal before adding new insulation; stacking new insulation over it maintains effective thermal performance and boosts energy efficiency.

If the insulation is damp, moldy, or deteriorated, removal is necessary to eliminate health risks and ensure maximum effectiveness of the new layer. A professional insulation contractor will assess your situation and recommend the most effective solution.

Installing insulation in an average-sized home using batts or boards requires five to 12 hours. Using spray foam or blown-in insulation requires two to five hours. These timeframes are determined by the area’s size, accessibility, and whether old insulation must be removed.

Complex projects and hard-to-reach spaces demand extra time. Hiring an experienced insulation professional ensures that the installation is completed efficiently and correctly.

Insulation is measured by R-value, which defines how effectively it resists heat flow. A higher R-value provides superior thermal resistance, ensuring your home remains warm in winter and cool in summer.

Choosing the correct R-value is essential for maximizing energy efficiency and comfort, and it directly impacts long-term utility savings. Professional guidance determines the optimal R-value for your specific climate.
