"What a mistake I made in hiring Elcon. Their estimate was 25% more than my other estimate from a licensed well-reviewed electrician, but I went with Elcon because I thought hiring a large company would help ensure things went smoothly, efficiently and give me some peace of mind. Unfortunately, the result was just the opposite. There were two fairly simple jobs. The first was to install an outlet on the opposite side of drywall where there is already a switch. The electrician took out the switch where you can clearly see the other side of the wall yet he still cut right in front of the stud exposing over 4 inches of stud. Why he didn’t use a stud finder or drill a small hole first before cutting completely baffles me. He did fess up to it immediately and patched it, but never even apologized. I had to match/buy paint to match the wall and cover the patch. Next he installed a non-GFI outlet in a laundry room which is against NEC code. When I informed him that the outlet was not to code, he said their estimator didn’t put a GFI on the quote. Yet I specifically requested a GFI outlet in my email to them - both in writing AND in a photo of the job. Why neither their estimator nor their electrician followed NEC code was concerning, but he did switch the outlet eventually. The other job was to install an outdoor wired box which was clearly titled as such on the quote. When I showed the electrician where the box was to be installed, he said he didn’t have a box with him. How he did not have one of only two fixtures needed for the job is beyond me. Also, instead of going to get the box before starting the job, he did it after the wires were threaded and exposed. He was gone for 40 minutes when there is a Lowes right next door to me. If it had rained, all of my entire pool wiring (which he wired up to) would have gotten wet. I paid him in full and contacted their office via email to explain what happened. Their office manager did apologize, but her unhelpful solution to my wasted time and extra money I had spent to paint was to schedule more time with me so their estimator could “spot check” the electrician’s work. Now, not only does their lack of trust in their own electrician make me worry about the completed install, but this would have been the third time I had to take time away from work and for their convenience. This is because instead of using the detailed request and photos I sent them of the job, the estimator still wanted to see it in person. And when the estimator arrived, he asked questions that were already in my request and took the same photos I already sent. When I finally pointed out that it was all in my request and photos, he then looked and was surprised it was all already there. Thankfully, I only scheduled Elcon for two of the four jobs they estimated for me. I was going to schedule those at a later date but after this experience, I decided to hire another company for the remaining jobs and will be sure to have them check all of Elcon’s work."

"Kevin was great I will definitely be calling him direct for any future electrical needs in my house. The first contractor came out and quoted me almost $8,000 which was ridiculous telling me I needed two new circuit breaker boards and running a new line into my house from outside. I plugged the quote from him into my chat GPT and they let me know that he was just taking full advantage of me and none of that was necessary. Chat GPT gave me a script and what to send to Kevin and the other contractors and then Kevin replied back to me immediately it would have been done yesterday but I was not home or available at the time so he came out on Easter Sunday morning and knock this out. If I could give 10 stars to Kevin I would definitely do it and recommend him for anyone else any future jobs. "

"Have you ever felt good about hiring someone and then it turned out to be an expensive mistake? For me that was Mr. Electric of West Palm. They botched things by taking short cuts to finish sooner and required additional (and expensive) parts. I finally realized what was happening: they are much more concerned with corporate profitability than customer satisfaction. You have fair warning---caveat emptor!"

I googled top rated electrical service companies and sent inquiries to install a generator outlet on my circuit breaker panel. after several days with no response I turned to Angie’s list. Within hours every one of the companies responded. I accepted SWD’s quote and within days the work was completed as promised. Their electrician was on time, extremely knowledgeable as he explained the pros and cons of how to complete the job, and might I add, patient & kind. Bryan took time to speak with my son over the phone as we discussed our options. Before leaving, Bryan made a video to make sure I know how to hook the generator up & use the interlock correctly. As a retired high school teacher, I appreciate honesty, hard work & excellence. I highly recommend SWD. "

"Not a great experience but hired because they had immediate availability to do an assessment on a house I'm under contract for while another inspection took place. Takes very long to text back. Told me I would have assessment by 5pm and sent it at 9pm. When I asked him if the cost of the assessment rolls into the job if I hire him he said no and told me that's how other electricians trick you. I then asked if I could get an estimate on the repairs as it was his company that went out and he said no he needs his team to go back out. So he wants me to allow his team back out with nothing in terms of man hours needed/a quote. Multiple other electricians advised that 1- they included many unnecessary fixes and 2) don't understand Florida as certain appearances are standard with the weather and metals used. I will say he is a nice guy as he handled my anger with patience, however, my anger was warranted. Would not use again and would not recommend. "
