"Very well....pun intended. FYI I rated price as a "B" but honestly, I think it could have been much worse. They spent some time troubleshooting and avoided pulling the well pump up...in my opinion a sign of true professionals. They could have made a **** of a lot more money off of me if they wanted. Additionally, Billy, the owner showed up part way through the job even though their office is a good 30 minutes away. Ended up the leak was a failed pvc joint out in the yard. They found it without digging using a very large "cake tester". A small, hand-dug hole, some new couplings and a bit of glue and we're back up and running. They also pumped up the well-tank bladder, swapped out some tired parts and installed an additional check valve while they were here. I heartily recommend them for well servicing."

"Originally had another company scheduled to come out at 3pm but they bailed out - stated they were slammed with work and couldn't get to me till about a week later.  I had already drained the existing water heater, shut off the water and waiting for them when they called at 2:30 and told me they weren't going to make it.  I don't have a truck, otherwise I would have tried to go get one and do the job myself.  I took a chance and contacted A-1, Mr. Maddox told me they were scheduled to go to another job but he could delay that till the next day and do this job for me - this was awesome!  Him and his helper showed up about an hour later - new water heater in the van and they began the work.  About an hour later - job done!  In addition to installing the water heater they installed two shut off valves and a drain pipe for the relief valve.   <br /> Excellent work, very nice, fast, professional and the price competitive.  I will contact him again for future plumbing needs and I highly recommend. <br />"

"I've called on James and his crew several times and will continue to call them when I have an electrical or plumbing issue. They are prompt to respond and haven't failed to do good work for us each time. They aren't the least expensive, but I prefer to pay for the job to be done right the first time and that's what Biggers has always provided."

"on a sunday afternoon the water pump stopped working.  i called.  within an hour the tech arrived. after checking out all the equipment and replacing a pressure switch i still didn't have water. some checks were done on the wiring and found there was a problem.  since this is a deep well there was no way to get to the pump to test it so temperoy wiring was run from the breaker box to the pump house.  the pump worked again and water was restored to my home.  since this was a sunday and the temp wiring would be fine the digging up and repair of the buried wiring would be done during the week. this is the kind of service i have always gotten from this company.  boone the water guy is a kind, knowledgable, and trustworthy water tech! i started using his service a few years back when i had major problems with the water company i had been using.  after two years with this other company my water was still nasty.  after a few MONTHS with this man my water was clear, clean, and tasted great.  i would never have anyone else take care of something as precious as clean water for my household but him.  we are looking at moving soon and i plan to ask him if he would like to at least test the water at the new place and install a system if i pay for his travel."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Lumber City, GA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
