"Elisio and his crew were great and very fast. We used them to clear some brush, level our yard, and install an above-ground pool. They did all of it in a day. He's been doing level for a long time and it's his main specialty so he know what he's doing. I high recommend!"

"I’m so happy I used 365 Custom Turf to completely transform my backyard! I had a huge job that other companies weren’t willing to tackle. However, the guys at 365 Custom Turf made it happen and the final product looks better than I could have imagined! The install was smooth, easy and professional. I couldn’t be happier! Thank you to the whole crew from start to finish!"

"Stenson Landscaping did an outstanding job on a complicated project in my front yard. I was looking to have the following done: 1) repair all existing stone landscaping walls (which were in bad shape); 2) demo the old front walkway and pour a new one with a different pattern of stairs; 3) build stone retaining walls down the sides of the front walkway and across much of the front of the yard, and have those walls match the existing stonework; 4) fill behind the walls with gravel and filter fabric for drainage and fill dirt for planting; 5) update all irrigation to the new layout and ground level, including installing drip irrigation lines for future planter bowls. Stenson did an outstanding job at the project. They worked to detailed specifications and designs that I provided them, and were open to feedback and willing to make changes on the fly as needed. The stonemasonry in particular is outstanding - the walls are very solid, built with rebar and concrete footers, and really look incredible. The change in the look of my front yard is night and day. I'm thrilled with the outcome of the project and would absolutely hire them again."

"It took a few weeks to get started on the stone borders. Once they did start, it took about 4 days to complete. They also had a crew remove all of my grass to prep the yard for the sod while they got the sod.

We picked an Austin Stone with French pattern and no brick cap for our stone borders. The crew dug out a trench outlining the shape and then placed rebar in the trench to hold the concrete that was poured in the trench to form the base for the stone. The height was nice and they crew did a nice job keeping level even with my sloping lot. The stone was cut and fit into an french pattern which looks great!. Small drain pipes were also installed at the base at regular intervals. The work was labor intensive and they did a nice job, maintain their quality throughout the project. The borders were noticed my our neighbors who have all commented on how nice they are and the difference they make to our house. The difference in quality of our stone borders is evident when compared with others in our area.

We also had the front yard sodded with Emerald Zoysia which looks great and will look even better once it roots and grows. There was some delay in getting all of the sod since they cannot cut sod when it is raining or the sod is too wet. Once they finished up and rolled it, they cleaned up and everything looks fabulous!

David stopped by often to check on the work and I am satisfied with our new front yard and highly recommend David's company for any outdoor needs you may have. "

"Overall I was happy with the end result and the price paid. That is the most important and based on that I would recommend and hire them again. However, punctuality and communication need serious improvement. Our technician had to make three visits because he was consistently an hour or more late each time. One appointment he missed completely due to being over scheduled. I am not sure if this is his doing or just being over worked in a busy time of the year. I can say when he was on site he worked hard and late (past 8 pm once). Communication was also lacking. We would have to call him or his company to find out when he was going to arrive. We never proactively received a call. If you have free time and a flexible schedule, they are a good company that will work late into the evening on a weekday which we really appreciated."

"I saw their ad in a monthly magazine, they were running a special, which included the sink and plumbing, and I went to their showroom on Saturday, 8/28. I met Danny and Ana, they showed me different countertop materials, sink options, and back splash. Danny was able to do an in-home estimate that day. I had almost 80 square feet of countertop, including the island. We agreed on the price, and the install was set up for the following Saturday, (9/3). Danny came by during the week, prepared the template, and advised that the installers would arrive between 9 – 9:30 am. Ana emailed a detailed invoice, which included the countertops, tile back splash, sink, plumbing, and labor. The installers arrived at 9:10 am, in a company box truck, put down protective covering for the floors and carpet, and were very courteous. They immediately started working on tearing out the old countertops, did not create a huge mess, and were very efficient. They brought their industrial vacuum machine and kept the work areas clean. I picked out a backsplash pattern, and was very happy with the results. Within seven days, from start to finish, I have a beautiful kitchen! I definitely recommend Icon Granite for your granite needs. They delivered exactly as advertised on “Guaranteed professional & timely service”!"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Mabank, TX

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
