We were extremely pleased with RMZ's work. Ziggy and an employee, Ralph, took many before-and-after photographs in the attic spaces of the units they worked on. They gave clear explanations of the work that needed to be done, and their findings agreed with what we had been told by the building inspector. They were able to accommodate our residents' schedules for their initial inspection/estimate as well as the actual repairs, and communicated well by phone and email. They were very pleasant to work with throughout the process, and even fixed a minor problem without charge (they made a separate trip to diagnose and fix the problem, and did not complete any other work in that unit). The photographs helped us see the initial problems (e.g., insulation covering vents, visible condensation) and the steps that Ziggy and Ralph took to correct them (adding baffle rafter vent chutes, clearing existing soffit vents, etc.). We will absolutely work with RMZ in the future for any roofing needs, and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs roofing done.

"After numerous unreturned calls and a no-show by other contractors, I decided to go with Metal Roofing Systems (Gugger Construction) to install a metal roof. Right from the start, the customer service was pretty impressive. Mike from MRS handled almost all communications, including roof inspection and drawing up the final contract. Although his over-confidence can come off badly at first, it was probably justified since my questions were always answered promptly (via phone or email), nearly everything promised had been delivered AND on schedule, and I felt like my business--even with a small home--was important to him. The tear-down and installment took five days, as estimated, with four roofers/installers working eight hour days. I found the installers to be extremely competent, hard-working, and polite (even to me, a female customer), and was happy to see that they did a general clean-up after each day. The soffit work alone that they did around the uneven rock surfaces of my home was simply fantastic (and probably a pain in the butt to install). I inspected and photographed the work progress twice every day, and the only fix I had asked for, right after it was installed, was a replacement of a short piece of dented fascia. This was never done. I asked the installers a second time if they would replace it, and we agreed that they would try to fix it instead and see how it looks. I wasn?t happy with it and asked Mike if they could please replace it, to which he agreed, but later I found they had come by and covered it up instead. Still, their final repair of the fascia looks much better than the original installation. Another complaint would be the difficulty, or perhaps just confusion, with communication; who is in charge on the roofing crew, and if I speak to one of them, will my question/concern be passed on to the lead, even if he?s not there? The last thing I want to do is constantly nag or mention the same concern repeatedly when I see it hasn?t yet been addressed (like the fascia). I would have preferred a communication from Mike during or near the end of installation to help solidify the process. My only other complaint would be the final clean-up, which could have been better. Still, after having been in the home construction business myself, I am very happy with the overall workmanship and professionalism delivered by MRS and wouldn?t hesitate in using their business again. I believe the positives of the entire experience far outweigh the negatives. The project was on time, on budget, and I would highly recommend their services."

"He came and inspected our brick exterior, and gave his opinion about what should be done to repair and maintain the brick exterior.  He gave an estimate to repair the damaged bricks as well as rebuilding the chimney from the roof up.  "

"Any major home repair/renovation is difficult when you are living in the home but Birch Environmental has made it as smooth as possible. John the owner and primary contact is very accessible, attentive and professional. All stages of this complicated project has been discussed, explained carefully and thoughtfully. John also listens well to understand our concerns, desires and needs with different aspects of the process. Every day that John and his team at Birch Environmental has worked for us has been on time and worked diligently and efficiently. John has been true to his word to the point where he made a mathematical error in our favor on his bid and when it was caught before we signed the contract he honored his original bid even though we offered to pay the higher amount. The dollar value was only a couple of hundred dollars but we appreciated his integrity and the savings. John at Birch Environmental also has worked directly with our insurance company which was very helpful. There were a couple of issues of communication with the insurance company initially and Birch assuaged our concerns with understanding and professionalism until the issues with the insurance agency was resolved. We have always been able to either reach John at Birch Environmental via cell phone or received a return call within an hour at any time of day including weekends and holidays. While we were out of town during part of the project and John came by even on days they were not working to feed our cats while we were gone. That level of personal service and attentiveness has been amazing and consistent hallmark of our experience with John and Birch Environmental. Birch environmental has consistantly gone above and beyond in both personal service and attention to detail making this as postive experience as possible. I recommend Birch Environmental without hesitation. In fact I already have and Birch is already resolving an emergeny ice/water damage job for freinds."
