"I’ve used Mike twice now, last time for a sump pump replacement and water heater flush. Did great work and takes the time to explain what is going on. I don’t feel like he’s trying to upsell services to me like some other plumbers. Highly recommend. "

"Antone was very responsive to all my questions as I had a lot to learn. Other neighbors had used this same company and were pleased with their results. Two guys were in the house for 5 hours. Answered all my questions, were polite, professional, knowledgeable. Prior tests I had done with different detectors showed 5.0-8.0 readings in basement near sump pump. Bought a new detector at time of installation. Current reading (2 weeks of data) shows 0.3 pic/liter. Pretty amazing difference, and peace of mind."

"It went well.  In evaluating our leak problem, Alliance thoroughly checked inside and outside the house and then recommended we do several things. We had them take care of two big things, and then they showed me how to take care of a couple of other minor things which saved us money.  <br /> <br /> They communicated with me a couple of times in setting up a time to do the work, and showed up at the right time. They actually re-arranged their schedule at the last minute to better serve me.  The work was done professionally, neatly, and thoroughly.  They took care to not track dirt into the house. We were especially happy with the new tile drain installed in the back yard where care was taken to put the grass back to normal after digging the 6 inch deep, 20 foot trench and installing the black plastic drain tile and a drain at the end of the line. <br /> <br /> Alliance checked back with me several days after the work was done via email to find out if we were satisfied with the job.  This is the second time we've used Alliance in the past year (unfortunately, for several reasons, one of our basement walls is prone to leaking) and they were excellent both times. I definitely recommend them to anyone having basement leak problems."

"The person who came to our home was very respectful, courteous and prompt. He provided an estimate and suggestion of how to deal with the problem. We had water coming into the basement through a crack in the foundation. The estimate was to place a drain tile system along one wall of the basement and put in a sump pump to remove the water coming into the basement. This was the suggested solution from 2 of 3 providers. We chose the 3rd provided who agreed with us that it was reasonable to just fix the crack in the foundation wall. <br />"

"I called Dry Otter because I suspected that my drainage system was not working properly. I was given an appointment within a couple of days. Nick came out and assessed my basement and actually suggested that I try Roto Rooter as a first step. Roto Rooter was not able to reach the entire system, so Dry Otter installed 6 access pipes, replaced my old sump pump, and revised my sump well. All work was completed on time and on budget. The crew was respectful and very competent, and cleaned up after the cement work. I am very pleased with the work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them . <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Malta, IL

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
