He designed a cabinet that offered more space than those of others suppliers and make use of all space available. "Heartwood was recommended by Reico Kitchen and Bath in Springfield, VA, my cabinet supplier. I'd originally considered engineered quartz but when three styles I chose turned out to be backordered I took a fresh look at the Corian offerings and chose a Private Collection style in Clamshell. The material is one and a half inches thick with the plywood backing so it replicates the solid look of stone countertops, even around the sink, where Heartwood also built it up. I have gotten so many compliments on it, especially from people who don't realize there are alternatives to granite. "I contracted Jed Dinger Design to build a media wall cabinet for my flat screen tv and components. It was a unique design that I couldn't find online or in the store. I wanted a particular wood, stain and size. Additionally, I wanted it to operate in a certain way. Jed took all my ideas and built a beautiful and solid cabinet that operates just as I wanted if not better. Furthermore, it was easy to work with him. Generally, we communicated via phone and email. I provided him photos and the necessary measurements. He kept me updated on the progress of the cabinet by sending me pictures. I went to his shop to bring certain items that he needed. He came to the house to do the install. I definitely would hire him again."

"The built-ins Econize installed in our family room and daughter's room are exactly what we wanted and our experience with the company was wonderful from the initial design consultation to the final install. During the design consultation David listened to my requests and provided honest and practical suggests and recommendations. He could have easily sold me a built-in bookcase that wouldn't have looked good in addition to the family room and child's bedroom floor to ceiling bookcase we ended up getting, but was honest and professional and suggested I not go ahead. The install was efficient and the install guys were prompt, friendly, professional, and courteous. They removed shoes, asked if we would like them to wear a mask even though they were alone in the rooms they installed in, and were very accommodating of the fact I didn't know how many wire holes we needed in the built in. They arranged to come back and drill and fit these at a later date and arrived promptly and worked efficiently again. Just excellent customer service and an excellent product. Could not recommend them enough."

The initial cabinet install height was calculated off the listed height of my washer/dryer on the manufacturers website, and the cabinets were put in before the washer/dryer arrived. Once they were in place, I realized I needed the cabinets lowered -- John fixed the issue without a problem!"

"I ordered the shelves in February 2015, and they were installed in April.  The shelves seemed fine (although expensive).  In early September a brace on the underside of one of the upper shelves came loose and hung down, blocking the shelves from "gliding" in and out of the cabinet.  I called Shelf Genie several times in September and October and emailed them, asking them to come and fix the hanging brace.  No response.  No call back.  No email back.  By good fortune another contractor was here working on some shelves, and when he saw the problem he volunteered to fix it, so the brace has been fixed.  But no thanks to Shelf Genie.    To be clear this was Shelf Genie of Northern Virginia & Washington, DC.    The franchisee was Cabinet Magic, Inc. Lead designer was Joe Johnson.  Installer was Jim Burgess. <br /> <br /> <br /> UPDATE -- October 30, 2015:  Within an hour of my posting this review I got an email from Joe Johnson apologizing, saying he had sold the franchise and perhaps my messages/emails got lost in the transition, and a phone call from Jim Burgess, also apologizing and offering to come fix the shelves.   Since the problem had already been addressed I declined his offer."
