I usually don't look forward to giving reviews because if I can't give a stellar review I'd rather not give any review -- just my nature. But with the Plumbing Doctor I have never had a better customer service experience than I had with John and his staff.

I had a pretty bad leaky outdoor faucet and when I saw the Big Deal for an outdoor faucet replacement I did an impulse buy hoping that's what I needed. John got back to me within the 2 days the deal said he would and we made an appointment within the next few days.

His serviceperson arrived on time and went to work. That's when we had a problem. When he was trying to change the assembly, it broke off inside of the wall between the inside and outside walls due to the way it was originally installed. He said he would have to open up my inside walls to get to it, which to me was not so much the problem as it was to getting to the wall as I have a one piece desk-hutch unit that hugs that corner of the wall and basically is non-moveable. Lucian (the plumber) had John call me and said even though opening up walls is not part of the basic service, they would cover it because the pipe broke while the technician was working on it. Whew! I was not ready for major plumbing expenses for a leaky faucet.

Lucian had to take apart some panels under my desk and make 2 holes in the wall before he able to fix and replace the broken section of pipe. When he was finished he said I would have to get someone else to fix the holes as he didn't know how to do that. I was a little disappointed but more concerned that mice or bugs would come in from the outside. About an hour later John called to ask if I was happy with the work done and I told him I still had holes in my wall, he said he wanted me to be "100% satisfied" and said he would send someone over to get them patched. Since that was a Friday, I received a call on Monday from a different gentleman who made an appointment for the next day to finish the job. He brought pieces of drywall and spackle and finished the job. He offered to come back when the plaster dried to sand it down but I told him not to bother that I would worry about it when I repainted the room since the patching was hidden behind the desk panel. He put everything back, cleaned up and wanted to make sure I was a satisfied customer. I cannot believe it. These guys were really concerned about getting the job done, on time and correctly. I would trust them with any plumbing job in the future. And, by the way, the faucet works great and doesn't leak!

"They came out to see what type of repair needed to be completed and they did an excellent job of explaining the different options available for purchase. On day of repair, they were on time and kept everything nice and clean during the replacement process. They even fixed a minor issue they noticed while doing the replacement under the sink for no additional charge since they were working right there."

"Lincoln was A on everything. The only thing is you have to pay in cash for everything, he is an old guy, and don't take checks or charge. He did an tremendous job fixing busted pipes, had lines busted, he gave me an fantastic price, fixed the concrete, and everything. "Great experience overall. Originally hired this firm just to refinish a bathtub although I had many other repairs to do. While assessing the bathtub job, Matt offered, for a very fair price, to replace the tub faucets and new vanity that I had purchased . He also found where water had gotten into the wall behind the tub faucet and made the wall soggy. He was able to remove the tile, repair the wall, and replace the tile, without additional charge. After beautifully finishing the bathroom, I asked Matt to quote on removing a kitchen cabinet and repairing and painting the drywall around it. He did a fabulous job, again for a great price. Then I asked him to paint the garage door and porch ceiling. All the work has been done well. I use this firm repeatedly because of the work quality and price."

"Joe impressed me from the start by returning my call from his vacation to set up time to come give estimate when he returned. He was not only on time, but early on the day of estimate. The estimate was a range of cost based on the fact we didn't know what damage we would find in terms of whether the mold spread behind tub surround. Thankfully when the wall was open we could see it hadn't spread so it was at the low end of the estimate even with us adding an extra job on there that I forgot to inquire about. The work was done in two stages. Joe and his plumber came out the first day to do all plumbing related work. They switched out all the bathroom trim from builders grade that came with house to a nice satin nickle that we provided. It looks great. The shut off valves under sink were locked up from age/corrosion so they needed replaced so the sink was a little more involved than initially thought. The reverse osmosis we provided to replace our old one was quite different and the fittings and lines were different so it was a little tricky but they got it up and running for a fraction of previous quotes we had gotten from other plumbers. The drywall repair was done by his drywall guy the next day. Did a good job repairing the bathroom in a tricky spot that left little room for working. The drywall repair plan for my son's room was to cut out the wall my husband destroyed trying to hang a floating desk, put a cross support in and then put up the new drywall. Once the wall was open and we could see what was behind it, it proved to be more labor intensive to put in the cross support because of the odd things running through the wall and made the desk trickier to hang. But it's up and secure which puts us mikes ahead of where we were. My only real complaint was having to scrub some drywall mud out of the carpet that spattered outside of where the dropcloth was but it's not a big deal. All in all I'm happy and will gladly hire Carlson Contracting again and have already inquired on a quote for a different job. The Angie's list coupon was a bonus and helped us save money."

"We had been having some sewer line problems in our old home for awhile, had another plumber who did a quick fix but was unresponsive. J. Blanton's team came in to replace some damaged sewer pipe in our home, quoting us about $5000. They were very communicative and got someone out to my home to take a look around and provide an estimate quickly. Shortly after they started the job, they told us that they needed to do additional work, totaling about $4000, which we went ahead with. As they were finishing up the second job, they informed us that the water line into our house was leaking and needed to be replaced, and quoted us $13,500 to replace the water line and the sewer line, though at that point they had no evidence of damage in the sewer line-- sort of a "while we're in there..." 
I reached out to a friend who is a general contractor and another who is a plumber, and received quotes from two other plumbers whose work came recommended by those I trust. The other two estimates came in around $5500-- less than half what we were quoted by J Blanton-- for replacement of the water line into the house, and neither of the other plumbers recommended replacing the sewer line until they could cam the line and see if there was any damage. I asked J Blanton for a revised quote for just the water line-- no sewer line replacement-- which reduced the quote to about $11000-- still double what other companies quoted us.
When I told J Blanton that we received another quote and were going with another company, several of their staff questioned whether the companies that provided the quotes were properly licensed to do the work (they were), if their quote was inclusive of all city permits and inspections required (it was), if they used their own staff or day labor (something that concerned me, but we verified that both companies used their own employees to do the work).

"I'm not a plumber so I can't absolutely say what I needed, but my property was dug up and my fence taken down to get the bobcat in. They left quite a bit of broken pipe and water bottles and their tape measure. The 2 men who were here 2 days were very loud shouting and playing and I hoped my neighbors weren't mad... sorryguys"

"We are very happy with the service we were given by Chris and Dave from Black Diamond plumbing. They had a fairly difficult job of replacing some old cast iron piping that had rotted out. The pipes in question were in a VERY tight space to access with water, gas and electric lines all running in very close proximity. The space to access the pipes was in a closet in the basement and the pipes were literally wedged in between joists, the main steel I beam supporting the house and electrical, HVAC, water and gas lines.  We had initially been told by other plumbers that it would most likely require cutting into the walls in the upstairs of the house (including 2 bathrooms that had been recently remodeled) and possibly even cutting up the floor under a brick fireplace.  These were terrifying estimates that would have been many thousands of dollars of work and would have probably required us to leave the house for at least a few days, not to mention the costs and time associated with repairing the upstairs damage.  Black Diamond said they could do it all from the basement without cutting walls or floors.  It took them nearly 8 hours just to actually cut and remove the damaged sections of pipe.  They did have to make a small hole in the drywall in one of the bathrooms upstairs, but my husband and I both felt that was an extremely reasonable action.  They stayed over 12 hours to make sure the job was completed in one day so that we would not be without the use of our bathroom for any longer than needed. Even though the scope of the work was greater than they expected; they stood by the estimated quote (which was very reasonable) which we were very happy about. The work was high quality and Chris and Dave were both very warm and professional. They also cleaned up very well after all the work was done! We are very happy and will be using Black Diamond for all our future plumbing needs.

"Jose/Windy City Plumbing was very responsive to our house compliance issues.  He provides you with options on how you should address the problem in order to be in compliance.  His staff are professional and respectful.  And the clean up very well after they leave.

"I trusted Captain Rooter to buy the new faucet I needed.  The one he purchased was reasonably priced and looks great !!  He SAVED me money - but figuring out how to fix something in a simpler way  -- instead of a more complicated way that would have been more expensive.    
In addition to being on time and doing the job well - Captain Rooter - was also a nice guy to spend several hours with.  Unlike some repairmen I've dealt with in the past ...(not Angie referrals) ...Captain Rooter  -  was very social.   We talked about world affairs, our famliies and stuff in the local news -- and he never missed a beat - as he continued to make repairs.
 I've been in my home for a dozen years -- before I had to deal with a plumbing problem.   I guess I've been lucky in that respect.   I consider myself lucky again-- because I picked Captain Rooter - to fix things.
