"I had a really bad shower and toilet clog so I decided to contact flo-maxx and they sent 2 professionals, Garret and Raymond to do the job but I wasn’t sure if they would be able to clear the drain, they definitely cleared it super quick and also cleaned my floor afterwards. They finally left but there was a small leak from the toilet water line and I called them and they came back again to check it and fix it, no big deal they did great! 10/10"

"on time, and knowledgeable the technician did the job well. Also, I had a problem changing the furnace filter. The filter was getting stuck when taking it out or installing. He repaired that too."

"The job was costly. However, everything was done on time. And there was an inspection with someone from the city (which is a plus for me). Also if all the work they did, they were able to keep things very clean.

The only little glitch we had was with sinking of area surrounding the flood control when sod was laid down. When I called the company about that issue, they checked everything out the next day and immediately had someone come out and take care of the things. So far everything looks good."

"Had a main sewer line backup and called J. Blanton. The tech showed up on time, explained everything upfront, and cleared the clog quickly. He even did a camera inspection afterward so I could see the condition of the pipe myself. No upsells, no surprises, just solid, professional work. Drains have been running perfectly since. Highly recommend!"

"He was there at the time he said he would be there. He was very clean and quiet. We didn’t even know he was in the house. He brought it out my kitchen sink and my main line left everything neat and clean."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Manhattan, IL

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
