"A little difficulty in getting a hold of them.  Some phone tag back and forth, a couple days turn around time to respond to emails, but they did always respond and get back to us.  The estimate was very professional and knowledgeable.  We could have chosen to do a patch to fix the crack which went all the way from the top to the bottom and had been causing leaks, but instead decided to pay a little more to replace a handful of bricks with the patch.  Their workers were very friendly and helpful.  They were realistic and gave us a good idea of what to expect.  You can barely tell which bricks were replaced and were the crack was.  They did a nice job. <br />"

"BEAUTIFULLY! I had been looking for remodelers to do my kitchen for 4 years. When I found Northrup I felt like half my journey was done. I worked with Bob Nentl as my contractor throughout the process. This house is over 100 years old so bringing the kitchen up to date proved to be a design challenge. Bob referred me to Richard Groh Architects and I worked with the two of them to get a really nice layout. In the design process, I chose to remove the small back porch and expand the kitchen. Because of the slightly slanting lot, this also developed into a small expansion of the basement underneath the new addition. Communication throughout the process was excellent. Bob and I connected regularly and he kept me apprised of any issues and gave me reminders regularly. The work area was cordoned off so that dust was minimized and living was doable. I say ‘doable’ because construction always disrupts your life. Everyone who worked on his project was professional, friendly and highly skilled. From the cabinets, tile and countertops (the visible pieces) to the plumbing, electrical work, floors, construction, and excavation - - They were all excellent to work with. Even my back steps are beautiful! There were a couple of things that I added along the way, including having the plumber look at and replace the plumbing up to the 2nd floor bathroom, and an egress window in the basement (the City’s requirement). Other than that, the project came in on budget. Our only delay was the April snowstorm that delayed the back steps. I was still cooking in my new kitchen though, and I love it. I would definitely hire them again. Everyone remarks on how beautiful my kitchen is - and it’s so much more functional."

"I had a wonderful experience with Craftsmen Home Improvements ("CHI"). First, they replaced my roof under an insurance claim. They made working with insurance painless, and they did a wonderful and timely job on the roof. The work crew was great and very hard-working. Next, I had them replace my siding with James Hardy. I have a big house, so this was a huge job. The crew was incredible. The were tireless workers, extremely courteous, conscientious, and professional. They made suggestions for improvements outside of the base-level job that made a HUGE difference in our home and those changes were affordable. They worked so hard to make sure I was happy with everything. Last, I had them replace my old wood soffits and fascia with aluminum, and add gutters and downspouts. Again, they did top-notch work. On top of all of this, CHI's communication was great, and their estimator for the work (Jim) continued to be involved throughout the project and I couldn't imagine working with a better person.
