"Don?t be fooled by Chapter?s sleek branding or ?hassle-free? pitch. Our semi-gut reno of a 3-bed, 2.5-bath Brooklyn co-op has dragged on for a year, burning money, time, and sanity. Chapter claimed high-end services, but this was not the reality. There was minimal project management, workmanship was terrible (damaged new items, blamed ?site conditions? when they couldn?t do basic work they?d promised, had to re-do many items because quality was so poor). They missed every deadline and overshot the timeline by months. We were often forced to procure items ourselves because Chapter weren?t engaged or competent enough to do so (they even failed to purchase a one-of-a-kind marble slab we designed our bathroom around. It was sold to someone else and we were forced to redesign last minute). They gaslighted us whenever we raised concerns and pressured us to make payments when work was defective / incomplete. "American Home replaced my roof and siding, porch windows and some add-on exterior lighting. One of the reasons I chose AHR was not just due to the best price, they came in line with other estimates I received, but because they included things with their final price that similar companies had as add-ons at an extra cost such as the dumpster and gutter system. I did not know what to expect as this was the first time I've had these things replaced. My rep John was awesome, he was professional, friendly and accommodating, and was able to work with me on the spot vs. "I have to check back to the owners" which I got from other companies. John was readily available by phone, text, and in person. He walked me through all the steps, timelines, and the whole process. After the crew finished, he took my list of 'nit-pick' things and made sure they were addressed.
